That can be applied to so much in our lives, right? Relationships, skills, you name it. In our physical yoga practice and meditation, consistency is key. Or at least one of the many keys. lol 😜🗝

What you explicitly see in class this week is 60 - 90 minutes of moving your body around and making shapes that might lead you to balancing on your hands.
What’s implicitly happening behind the scenes to get you there goes a little something like this.
Wrist Mobility - a balance of extension and flexion, both passive and active.
Shoulder Mobility - controlled articular rotations of the shoulder, to move the joint in all of the ways it was designed to move. With a particular focus on external rotation and shoulder flexion, and upward rotation of the scapulae (as in NOT pulling the shoulders down the back when the arms are overhead).
Core Stabilization - keeping the pelvis and the ribcage stable while the arms are lifting overhead, so that the arms being up in the overhead plane is happening at the shoulder joint, instead of borrowing from the lower back’s flexibility.
Joint Stacking - in an efficient inversion, all of the joints are stacked and the body appears to be balanced on the vertical axis. Learning this in Urdhva Hastasana // Upward Salute is crucial - if you can’t do it right side up, how will you ever do it upside down?
And so on, and so on.
Just saying “try a handstand” doesn’t really get you anywhere. But setting up the building blocks sure does.

Tomando a forma de uma pirâmide. .

Quando falamos em pirâmides logo vem a cabeça as famosas pirâmides do Egito, mal nos damos conta de que existem milhares de pirâmides ao redor do mundo. Datadas de X mil anos, elas sao um grande mistério da humanidade. Seu propósito, sua construção e tantos outras perguntas sem resposta sobre estas estruturas de formato triangular.
E por falar em triângulo... quando você respira calmamente em uma posição que nunca esteve antes, quando você assume uma forma geométrica fundamental, quando você aceita que seu corpo e sua mente apenas sejam, você existe em uma nova dimensao da realidade.
Pense bem, seu corpo é matéria física, quando vc assume uma forma que nunca assumiu antes e apenas respira, você existe pela primeira vez nessa forma. Você acabou de renascer.
Se você observar uma pessoa sentada poderá facilmente dizer o que esta se passando com essa pessoa. Se ela estiver brava sentará de uma forma, se estiver feliz de outra forma, se estiver depressiva de outra forma e assim por diante.
Para diferentes níveis de consciência ou estados psicológicos seu corpo assumirá uma postura naturalmente, você nem vai ser dar conta disso.
Porém, se você conscientemente se colocar em uma postura especifica, notará que é possível elevar sua consciência. .
Yoga tem muitos mistérios assim como as pirâmides, porém quem pratica sabe que por trás do misticismo existe ciência, saúde e sabedoria.
Yoga é tecnologia. .

We all know that plants and flowers are nice to look at but did you also know that there are wellness benefits? According to @the sill website, "studies have shown indoor plants: 🌷Boost mood, productivity, concentration and creativity.

🌷Are therapeutic and cheaper than a therapist." I've also read that you can reap the benefits of plants by just having pictures of them in your home or office. How about that?!? You don't even need to have a green thumb to be healthy. I'm curious...what, if any, flowers or plants do you have in your home or office? 💙
So today was a LOOONG DAY....🤷🏼♀️
You know those days.. you get home, there’s animals or kids, dishes to be cleaned, dinner to be made, mail to organize..... it goes on and on!
Today I made the choice when I got home to take an hour for myself. One hour. That’s it. 🕐
Self-care... then I get to the things. 🙏🏻
If my cup isn’t full first, then I can’t properly take care of what’s around me. 🙌🏼
So, I had a lovely quickish Primary series and some snuggles with #lolapup. Of course she turns exactly as the camera goes off!!! 🐶
Self-care is not selfish. ❤️❤️
