Give and you shall receive ✨I’m finally starting to understand that giving with zero expectation to receive something back is soooo different to giving because you want to without any expectation. .
You get so much more from giving that way and that is the type of giving that gets reward ten fold in the end 💛
DISCIPLINE - TAPAS.
I find the word ‘discipline’ difficult, from childhood to adult life it has meant something negative to me; I associate it with behaving and being told what to do.
I’ve always been a ‘good girl’; I do what I am asked. The people pleaser in me is very disciplined, as is the anorexic side; I could eat very little, run everyday, walk every where - no matter how tired I am.
Until recently I associated discipline with self hate and punishment. But ‘tapas’ means ‘to fire’, ‘to change’, ‘to transform’, and in that way it comes from love. Here it means keeping a promise you made to yourself; it means choosing long term progress and happiness over short term relief.
Discipline is meditating daily, even when it makes you feel like your skin is crawling; it is getting on your mat to practice 5 times a week because it grounds you like nothing else, even when you feel like you could be doing something more ‘productive’ or scrolling on your phone would be easier. It is committing to recovery when it would feel more comfortable and straight forward to restict.
It is doing the work. Reconditioning. Re-patterning. Keeping the promise to yourself. It is proving to yourself that you are trust worthy and CAN do things. It is letting that snowball. Until you wake up one day and realise you are who and where you wanted to be. #recoveringyogis

When you start up a regular yoga practice it’s hard to not talk about how amazing your feel, how stress free everything suddenly seems to be, and how awesome and supportive your new yoga friends are.
