“In its simplicity, yoga practice opens us to the present—where salvation is openly ready to receive you—where our soul rests and emerges. Though we use our body as a tool to open to this reality, never feel the need to preform, or be better than you are in this moment. We only need to be more receptive to what unfolds, right here, right now. The inner journey is what makes this work worthwhile as our bodies assist to set a flame to resistance and false perception. We learn to lean in instead of turn a blind eye to what each experience or posture has to teach us. It’s more than simply doing a pose or collecting more asanas. What is it are we opening up to? Where do we need to let go? Where do we need to rise up? The time—is always now. The place—is always here.

My sister & I both like to party.
And by party I mean do yoga,
get lost in a good book, and try
our best to stay awake until 10pm... 🎉
😂 ... but seriously, speaking of getting lost in a good book, I’d be SO grateful for any recommendations you can share! - just finished a short one and I’m in need of another! 😊📚❤️
ALSO, here’s your friendly reminder to enter the @mandukayoga PRO yoga mat giveaway happening right now! There are still 17 more chances to win one of their best selling mats - it’s basically a more dense version of the travel one @tditty2 & I are using right here! 😍

DOES YOUR PRACTICE MEET YOU WHERE YOU ARE AT, or the opposite?
Hey everyone, I have to open up an be honest with you about an injury I have been babying. I have been hiding this all summer. Its an injury that began developing a couple months prior to my commitment to the 💯 Days. I know now that a 100 day commitment was probably not the best thing for an injury but I have been working on developing this business all year and I was unwilling to postpone it any further.
So here is the hard truth. My right wrist has most likely developed carpal tunnel. Its due to a combination of writing, working out, using too much technology and continuous stress. I mean, honestly who can completely stop using their hands to baby an injury, especially when trying to create a successful coaching community.
But things have only gotten worse as time has gone on. Today, my workout included weights for upper body strengthening. On any other day I would grab those weights and be extra careful, but it has come to a point where I cannot do that any longer. The damage I am doing to my wrist has become a daily pain and I am facing the reality of permanent damage. So from here out I have promised myself no more weights, no more burpee's or planks until my wrist and elbow are healed.
So today’s photo are brought to you by IMAGINARY weights and a DEVOTED coach. Weights or not, I know that I can continue growing my strength and endurance with modifications.
Are you modifying when you need to?
Are your workouts meeting you where you are at or are you trying to meet your workout in a place you have not yet achieved?

This morning I had the privelage of taking @thespiritbirdlife class @corepoweryoga Del Mar. She spoke about our JOURNEY. She had us think about the first time we were ever on our yoga mat. For me, it was 12 years ago at the Corepower Encinitas location. I walked into that studio in hopes that yoga would help with my anxiety and relieve stress. I was dealing with severe anxiety and the only thing the doctors could do was prescribe me pills to mask my anxiety. At first, I was extremely frustrated because I was unable to do many of the postures, but I kept going back. I couldn’t do inversions, balance, or even touched my toes, but I didn’t give a shit. Yoga allowed me to get to the root of my anxiety and start HEALING. Yoga is so much more than just a physical practice to me. It has been my solid foundation through the highs and lows of my life. Yoga is not about the pretty yoga photos and being able to do a handstand. It’s about allowing yourself to show up messy and broken. That is when your HEALING JOURNEY begins. Life will punch you in the face sometimes, but KNOW, your mat is always fucking there for you when you fall. Thank you @thespiritbirdlife for sharing your journey with me.
