I couldn’t figure out what he made in the sand. After a few guesses he gave up and told me that it’s an Incan temple. He also gave me a lowdown on its history starting when the Spanish came to Peru. #success#worldschooling #triparoundtheworldpic.twitter.com/P8PmjTw4WV
Well, one down but no rest:
WorldSchooling Hub might be launched, now it's time to work on the relaunch of the UK Open Mic website and associated services.
Got some great plans for it, just need to start the build.. looong road ahead!

One of my favorite aspects of child-directed learning is that Roo is in the driver seat for her education. This approach to learning combined with WorldSchooling has allowed her the freedom to explore her interests. It’s alsoperfect for kids who have challenges such as ADHD because it requires less redirection, as they are invested in what they’re learning.
Her love for marine life means that if there’s an aquarium where we travel, I try my hardest to include it on the itinerary. So during our trip to Orlando we visited the SEA LIFE aquarium!
We’ve visited the London & Minneapolis SEA LIFE and it is always such a treat for Roo because they are all different! What I love about SEA LIFE is that they offer the right amount of exhibits. Sometimes Roo becomes too overwhelmed at larger aquariums, but you can make it through SEA LIFE aquariums in about an hour (we always spend at least 2-3 hours lol). But I also enjoy the interactive talks, scavenger hunts, and the option to upgrade to a behind the scenes tour.
These help solidify learning and also keep her engaged!

Like the rest of the children who go to school in China, Lucy is currently doing her learning online in a huge nation wide effort to contain coronavirus - today was the first day of the ‘online classroom’ with her teacher and classmates through the Zoom platform. Such a cool learning experience and she was so excited to see her classmates.. most of whom have been on lockdown inside their apartments for more than 3 weeks now 💔 - Due to the time difference with China, Lucy’s lessons are in the afternoon so this morning we went to Orana park zoo. All was fine and dandy until 3 old ladies standing in the line in front of us to feed the giraffes decided to loudly comment, “Those children should be in school!”.. I tried my hardest to put it in the fck-it bucket but I just couldn’t (little do they know these kids are so lucky and get an incredible education, travel the world and speak Mandarin!) so I politely informed them that they actually go to school overseas but we are currently here on holiday and also learning online at the same time. So frustrating how some people are so quick to judge and turn their noses up.. having said that it was still a great morning of learning and now it’s time to get the books out 📚❤️👩🏻🏫 #chinaexpat#worldschooling#expatkids
Just had our first user sign up to https://WorldSchoolingHub.com . An Australian family based in South America at the moment.
If feels awesome to have built something that I'm SURE will be super useful for so many people (us included!).
Delphine would like to take you through @tourismequebec Quebec, our favorite Canadian province (only one we’ve traveled through 😉) first we went to @montreal , then we stopped in Tadoussac to visit @quebecmaritime and visit the number one whale watching spot in the world and lastly, @quebeccite and @fairmontfrontenac . Fun fact = Sam was passing a kidney stone the entire trip- spent some time in ER in Montreal and generally had to push through the whole experience and as I post this he’s passing another. Happy New Year to him 😉

Vegas and Disney World, hands down. Been to both already and am just not into the man-made tourism experience. Would much rather go on real adventures in genuinely exotic places (with the kids, too). #worldschooling
Are these kids getting educated or what?!
One of the most common questions we got before we left on this 3 month trip was “What about the kids school? Are the kids going too? Are you going to homeschool?”
No we aren’t homeschooling, although some form of that might be in our future depending on how often we’re travelling 😉
Before we left home, we were able to work with our girls teachers and get set up with their homework and necessary topics to cover during our time away.
On top of that, we have been learning Spanish as a family (one of our biggest goals in coming here), exploring and adventuring, and trying to teach our kids some of the practical things in life - cooking, planning, cleaning, shopping etc…
We also have each chosen a few skills or projects that we are working on while here:
• Writing a graphic novel + photography (Zoe)
• Graphic Design Course (Rae)
• Drawing (Shiloh)
• Business/Marketing (Tim)
We are big believers in giving our kids experiences that you can’t learn in a classroom, we like to call this #worldschooling 😁… and we know that each trip we go on, that more is going on in our kids hearts and brains than we even realize.
One of the best things we feel we can do is to give them the opportunity to learn and grow, to see beyond themselves and to experience things that we hope will have lasting impact on their lives.
How has travel impacted your life?

At Kek Lok Si Buddhist temple in Penang, Malaysia. It's lit up by thousands of lights in the month following Chinese New Year. Magical! #worldschooling
BOOM! Just launched the beta version of our #homeschooling and #worldschooling connection website, https://WorldSchoolingHub.com
Feels great to get it out there and, hopefully, help lots of #homeed families to find and meet each other :)

It was another 5:30 am start this morning for a hike to World's End at Horten Plains. We were surprised how cold it was and were wearing all our layers. We arrived just after sunrise to enjoy the 9 km hike. We saw some incredible scenery, views, waterfalls and a few deer, a big monkey and a busy woodpecker. We had achieved our step goal before 9am! ⛰️ Next we headed to the train station to catch the 12:20 train to Ella. These trains have windows and doors wide open and travel through some beautiful scenery. Nice change from travelling in a van! 🚂
Once in Ella we headed to our guesthouse where we met our host, were greeted with floral necklaces, and invited for tea. Our host is a retired Captain in the military and in retirement a Buddhist farmer, yogi and guesthouse owner. He shared with is his philosophy on life, some Buddhist teachings and answered all our questions. I know for sure that the Buddhist philosophy resonates with me to my core and I will be exploring it in greater detail! These chats with locals has been the most profound for me while on this adventure!
Feeling grateful! 🙏

If I told you I’ve spent the last two days cleaning and doing laundry, would you feel sorry for me? Nah, I wouldn’t either. Not after knowing I spent the week in this majestic place. Who knew that being a travel content creator would make you feel like royalty? And hey! Now that there’s a couple royal positions opening up to the public (that’s how things work, right?) I’m going to apply! I would make a perfect replacement for Prince Harry, yeah? Matching hair and all! And these boys - well, they’d fit right in, obviously. Tell the Queen I’m ready for my crown and a grand staircase of my own. .

When you just crash..... 😴

I was so hesitant before becoming a coach because I didn't feel like I fit the bill. I wasn't in good shape. I had no background in business or marketing or fitness or nutrition. I had no experience with social media.
I was just a girl who really ✨really✨ wanted to get fit and who thought running a business from home sounded amazing (we were at the beginning stages of our first adoption and could really use the extra income). So if you’re having those same doubts and thoughts💭 that I was, here’s what I’ve learned that you need to know. Coaches are average people like you and me, 👯♀️from all walks of life, who simply have a passion for living healthier and sharing that with others!
Here are a handful of professions/backgrounds of the women who coach on our team:
Teacher (tons of teachers!)
Human Resource Generalist
No need for rock hard abs or a degree in nutrition or exercise, okay?! If you’re wanting to make a fitness transformation, WHY NOT get paid while you do it by sharing your journey and inviting others to join you, right?! Honestly? Five years later I still can’t believe this is what I get to do for work.
Think you would love this as much as I do? ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN for my March 2020 #SelfLoveSquad!! I will be mentoring FIVE of you in taking the leap into entrepreneurship and turning your personal fitness journey into a thriving online business! These spots will go fast!
I know you’re probably feeling nervous and hesitant like I was before I got started. That’s normal. But this will never change your life if you never take the scary first steps to get started.
Message me now to save your spot! xo
It’s almost my publishing date for Family Field Trip!! It will ship in just about seven weeks, on April 7th, but is available now for preorder through #indieboundbooks @barnesandnoble, @amazon, and now also the newly launched @bookshop_org. I have a couple of signings planned already, one at @squarebooks in Oxford, MS & one at @magiccitybooks in Tulsa, OK. I’ll post more details closer to the dates for those. Reach out if you’d like to plan an signing in your town- I’m always up for traveling and I have lots of ideas to really bring Family Field Trip to life for your store event.
I have been working on this book in my mind for 16 years, but under contract with @chroniclebooks since 2017. The world of publishing takes a lot longer than you think. Do you have any questions about publishing and all that goes into it, how to get started, etc...? I’d be happy to try to answer your questions below.
Whether you are traveling the world with children in tow or are just looking to add some tips and ideas around art, design, music, food, and culture into your children’s lives from home, then I think this book will be a great tool for bringing the world to you. @fieldtripblog#familyfieldtripbook
We had a wonderful time walking around Lima and soaking up how lively and diverse the city is. •
We had the chance to visit @elparquedelasleyendas which is a park and zoo built around a set of ancient huacas in the middle of Lima. These huacas are pre-Incan and Incan-era monuments, dating back to as early as 200 AD. They’re found all over Peru, and the ones here in Lima are very well-preserved. We even got the chance to spend time watching the archaeologists work on restoration projects! •
The girls had a blast seeing a menagerie of animals: monkeys, lions, zebras, penguins, turtles - and many more. It was a fun-filled day of exploration that left the girls wiped out (swipe to see more - the ride home was only 20 minutes, and they slept the entire time) :) •
Lima gets better and better by the day - what a remarkable city! 🇵🇪 •
Have you seen this place in my stories? Did you gasp like I did? @belmondcharlestonplace is so gorgeous, but unfortunately they’ve already told me I can’t move in. If you’re coming to Charleston, because WHY wouldn’t you want to come to Charleston? Come here, dine here, shop here (the lobby has a mall 😳) seriously so grand, filled to the brim with southern charm and marble bathrooms. Thanks for hosting us this week, @belmondcharlestonplace

Work in progress...
Sakura season y’all 💕💕💕🌸
I would probably love to follow all the cherry blossom blooms around the world like some people do! They are so beautiful and interesting!
I love to be able to experience it here!
In DC i was always admiring all the beautiful and fluffy trees! Their blooms don’t last very long but it’s totally worth the wait!
What a beautiful gift from Japan to the US!
It seems crazy that we get to experience them here now!

Taking a break and getting a can of juice at the roof top cafe in Vienna’s Aquarium - @hausdesmeeres.
(It may look like there is no glass, but there’s actually a wall of glass so you don’t fall off.)
If you get to go to Haus Des Meers, check out the sea turtle. It used to live in a house and acts more like a dog than a turtle. Also, beware of crazy monkeys in the jungle area! 🐢🐒
It’s an Aquarium Tower so if you take the stairs, you will get very tired!😀
Did you know the building also houses a small World War II museum?

One more from Seattle before I move on to Charleston. Our country is insane. It really should be a few different ones, don’t you think? I remember moving to Boston, 8 years ago, from California and thinking I might as well be in a different country. Everything is different; accent, food, family culture, weather, and obviously the history. I mean, in Boston we have Paul Revere and in California we had Zorro 😉 I know international travel sounds like the end all to be all, but America is full of really phenomenal options. Both Seattle and Charleston are in my top favorite places(cities) in the US, but what are yours? Give me your top five and if you haven’t been to your top five yet, then give me a go at what you *think your top five would be! 🌷
