Normally, my life is so GO GO GO, and Savannah become so accustomed to that. Now that I’m running my business online and we’re self isolating, life has SLOWED DOWN...Which I am totally not used to!
When I slow down, I find myself much less motivated and honestly feel like a potato 🥔😆
I’ve decided this week, that I am going to start a routine that works around Savannah’s nap schedule.
So far, so good!
While she’s napping in the morning, I check in with clients/work on my business. During her early afternoon nap, I complete household chores OR take a nap myself 🤷🏼♀️ During her late afternoon nap, I take her for a walk. I’ve been getting my workouts in with Nick when he’s done working, while she’s awake (I swear she loves watching me).
She usually naps around and hour so it’s plenty of time for me to get stuff done and feel accomplished and less potato-like ✅
While she’s awake, I feed her, change her and entertain her nonstop!
This routine I’ve created is not rigid at all and is very flexible, which works for me!

Where is the first place you want to go when #quarantine2020 is over?!?
Grateful for a little extra warmth, sunshine, and Vitamin D today during our short stint outside. So many people have commented to me about having family vacations postponed or cancelled.
Obviously, for the good of everyone's health, it's the right thing to do to stay home, but it still sucks! We were making plans for Hawaii at the end of the summer. So, putting my positive pants on and hoping that it will still happen.
Here's hoping my kiddos will still want to hang out with me on vacation after all of this 🤪😜🤪😜🤪

We’re trying not to miss a beat for Easter this year. First order of business, getting the Easter baskets ready.⠀
Easter means so much to our family so we’re excited to put together Easter baskets with some delicious @lindt Gold Bunnies. If you would have told me two years ago that I was going to be in the best shape of my life & helping other women crush their fitness goals too, I would have NEVER believed you!
I never intended on becoming a coach. I wanted to work on my own health & fitness journey. Period!
I was a busy mama of three little ones, my husband had just gone back to school for his masters degree & I knew nothing about health & fitness. Legit, zero things 😜🤣 But something crazy happened! I stepped outside of my comfort zone, said “yes” to my own journey & QUICKLY fell IN LOVE with the programs & products I was using. Three days in & I was HOOKED!
For the first time in a really, reeeeaaaallly long time, I was starting to feel like ME again & was actually seeing results 🙌🏻 I felt accomplished, proud, energetic,
confident. All of the things that I wanted so badly to feel!
I had been going to the gym for months & wasn’t getting anywhere so I shocked by the progress I was making FROM HOME with workouts that were half the time 🙌🏻 I started sharing my journey & experience, even with total strangers 😜 (<—— so not like me) but I still couldn’t picture myself being a coach. “Who would want to follow me?”
“I don’t have time for anything else.”
“What if I suck at it?” The biggest lesson I’ve learned from this experience is that you never know unless your or try!

This is my (second) why 🖤
Why I get up at 4-5am each day for work (I work EST). Why I added a side hustle and joined a direct sales business despite what others may think.
Why the side hustle I chose includes advocating for safer ingredient regulations in our skin + cosmetics products so that it doesn’t lead to immunity issues, hormone disruption, infertility and cancer cell promotion.
I do this all now so that my kids won’t have to worry or think twice about how their health is impacted by their products in the future.
I hope you all take time to learn about what ingredients and chemicals make up the stuff you and your family members use. While we cannot always control what goes on in our environment, we can influence what goes on in our minds. Inner freedom amidst external shackles takes great effort, but it is possibly the greatest internal achievement. Think of all the historical generations and heroic figures who have persevered through trauma - they harnessed courage and hope, and no doubt reframed their internal self talk. In these trying times now, it may be helpful to mentally scan your wheelhouse and make a quick list of which actions calm your mind enough to access the gratitude, faith and strength that open the gates to a sense of freedom.

HR was high and my legs were sore (thank you, @amandanighbertrd), but the city was so peaceful and the birds were chirping, so I can’t complain 🕊
🦋I’m not going to lie but my mind has been pre-occupied lately. I’m not an ER nurse nor an ICU nurse nor a frontline worker but I am a pediatric nurse who also took an oath to protect patients and advocate for them. Hawaii has not reached it’s peak yet but it’s just a matter of time and a matter of time when I'm called for duty. So keep in mind that staying home with your family is a privilege – a privilege that essential workers like me don’t have.🦋

Thinking of how I cancelled 6 months of work trips and work events .. things will never be the same again and that no longer scares me.. I just think it’s unfair that others are still socializing and not social distancing, making this phase last longer.. I was always so grateful for every moment with my kids, my husband, family, and friends before any of this - while I worked on weekends and late nights and traveling .. I did not need a global pandemic to teach me what I valued the most.. so to everyone running errands and visiting family and friends please stay at home so that people like us who are doing it right can all go back to seeing our friends and family 🙏 #teambahrain#bahrain#familylife#stayhome#workingmomlife#covid19

The past few days I have had my patience tested on a whole new level
I have been subjected to the hair pulls, the zero concept of personal space, the wailing outside the bathroom door, the I won’t nap till I am lying on your arm, the I won’t eat till you feed me and the list goes on
Dear stay-at-home-mom, I just want to say, I know how your normal day looks like and I know now how difficult it is every day to go to work without leaving your home
What I mean to say is that I am in awe of how you manage to give all of yourself, completely. And you never stop, you are always on the move, multitasking as you go, undertaking a job that is as physically demanding as it is mentally and emotionally challenging
Thank you for being an example for your children and proving to them that work takes many different forms and that value doesn’t just come from a paycheck and a promotion
Dear SAHM, thank you for the selfless love and devotion you show to your family everyday. You may not know it yet, but your kids will one day grow up and love you even more for being a part of their everyday 💕

Shout out to all my single moms out there making it through the chaos of the current world! I think we need to give ourselves a super high five. 🙌 This is hard! It’s not, just being a single parent, for an extended period of time. That I am getting used to. It is a lack of adult companionship of any kind. No adult interaction at all is hard and it is lonely. Anyone else out there feeling it? I am feeling it in my underlying anxiety. I feel the hints of mild depression setting in. I feel fortunate though, because I know these warning signs now and I know what I need to do. I need to continue with a routine. I am getting up at 5:30 in the morning and still working out before my children wake. We all have to move our bodies for at least 30 minutes every day. I am writing gratitude every morning. I write my goals every day. This is important, because I will not let this temporary change, cause me to lose site of my goals. I am filling my body with nutritious food that keeps me feeling good rather then lethargic and unmotivated. I think most importantly, I need to lean into my community. I need to call my friends and family and hear their voices. Do video chats and see their faces. Do zoom calls and have wine nights with my friends. Also, I am really going to be leaning into my team and my wellness community. I need to be surrounded by positivity and people who are still pushing themselves to reach their goals. I need these people. I won’t let this social distancing result in social isolation!!! I need you to do that too. It is sooo important. If you are looking for a place to lean into your goals and a community that keeps you going. Send me a PM. We are all in this together. Let’s get through it together. You are not alone. ❤️

I cannot believe I haven't had an online masterclass since 2017! Like it has been a LONG TIME.
I have spent so much time, looking, learning and unlearning what works and what does not work on Instagram.
1. Selling the end result. For example you are a lashes brand, what you selling is the experience a woman feels with her falsies. Women feel powerful asf with their lashes! Give that emotion through your feed and content.
2. Engaging with your following, guys, yes this is the only thing that you should be focusing on for certain amount of time every day. ENGAGE!
3. Organise your visuals, this isn't going anywhere! I'm always going to talk about visuals. Visuals, visuals, visuals.
Guys, When you see people with a huge following, you cannot get intimidated and remain focused.
It is AN ARDUOUS task, you have to keep pushing, keep trekking and even if you lose focus, you gotta keep the big picture in mind!

Ladies. I had high hopes of creating my usual science project out of our work-life-teaching regime and color coding a massive white board with lesson plans and activities for the kiddos, with strict time blocks and expectations...and well, it didn’t happen.
We’re straight up winging it. And loosely following the wonderfully detailed suggestions from the boys preschool, and just doing the best we can day by day. We do have a toddler morning routine which we stick to - because you allll know by now how much I live and die by mine - and we’re following a strict meal/snack/nap plan for schedule sanity. But we’re doing the best we can in between, mainly: an activity, outdoor play, throwing balls and whatever mommy-daddy come up with on the spot with the patience, I mean time, we have 😉
And while this is absolutely not my style, it’s actually been fine. Who knew toddlers didn’t need a college-prep-like-schedule for quarantine? 🤪

But seriously, moms of toddlers I know this time is so hard right now but can we just be thankful that we’re not required to do homework, and don’t have to regulate/teach real subjects right now? (Sorry moms of taller humans). For me, just doing what’s good enough, and knocking out my 2-3 priorities in each of my three daily jobs I’m keeping afloat is superb in my book — #WorkingMommingTeaching trifecta is no joke. And our good enough is 🔥
Today our “good enough” was painting a “canvas” outside with daddy, and decorating Easter cookies with mommy, and it was glorious.
#DadHack: Daddy was brave and brought all the washable paint and toddlers hands out to the driveway to create a master piece together which we call the “Bender-Pollock” 🎨
#MomHack: Store bought cookies (I love vanilla wafers) plus a jar of vanilla frosting plus all the sprinkles is a fantastic and easy 20-30 minute contained toddler activity. Everyone wins because kids love it and it’s edible, and mommy spends zero time prepping material and can multitask, cheerlead and take photos while we create together (I made lunch).

One thing I’ve gotten to do A LOT more of is cook & spend time with my kids. ⠀
It’s interesting. I never realized how much my middle child loved to help me out. With whatever. She just wants to be around. ⠀
So we have cooked together (she’s my little chef), driven around to pop presents on people’s doorsteps, made face masks & just spent time in bed cuddling & reading. ⠀
After this is all through, I think I may just look back & think 2020... what a wonderful year. ❤️⠀

I kicked off a series of virtual training sessions for a division at P&G...hosted a group coaching circle for my Breakthrough clients.... broadcast Teatime on FB, Insta, and Linked In...met with a couple of my VIP clients 1:1...and wrapped up the day with my team for our daily huddle on Zoom. I got in a workout this morning and soon I’ll be out for my walk before coming back home to make dinner for the crew and spend some downtime with them. Just over here controlling what I can control and surrendering the rest. How about you?? (Also drank almost my full 60 ounces of water today! Swipe to see 😉)
Being home all day can make a healthy lifestyle difficult. Snacks are readily available. Sugar is calling our names!!! .
Being quarantined may has probably led to some extra nibbles and some less than stellar food choices. This week, I am focusing on sugar consumption. One thing I am super guilty of is artificial sweeteners! .
Today's let’s be aware of what we are DRINKING! This includes your morning coffee, diet sodas, juices, fancy coffee house orders, etc. You may also want to look at pre- and post-workout drinks. .
This is a GREAT time to refocus on your daily water goal and to make sure you are staying hydrated! Drinking enough water can help with sugar cravings, as they are often confused with dehydration.

#safeathome day 179461 and mama actually got ready! WHO DIS!? annnnnyways... Probably the question i get asked most, “When Dalan is done with #medschool and is a practicing medicine, will you go back to work?” NOPE.
And no, It’s not because we will be financially stable without my piddly little law enforcement income. It’s because i have FOUND MY DREAM JOB!
I have found something that I can call my own.
It gives me so much purpose, i feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be!
It’s FREEDOM. In every aspect.
It’s an income, so I feel like I’m contributing.
And probably the best part: I wake up with JOY and EXCITED to “work”.. and I’ve honestly NEVER had that.
So no, I won’t be going back to work. But yes, I will still be working, from home. Living my life by design!
Today, i am forever thankful I paid that $40 coach sign up fee. Even though i paid it:
With every single hesitation.
With the small amount of spare money we had from one income.
But i knew if i didn’t go for it, and step out in faith.. I’d always wonder “what if.” It’s seasons like this, I’m forever thankful I said YES to this opportunity.
