Womxn have been doing what they damn well please at 3 PM and beyond. Our community has spoken in solidarity and we’re standing behind our actionable ask: if you are able, remove your acknowledgment of these awards until @50bestbars makes a statement, because we’ve made ours. #womenbehindbarsafter3 🦖☄️🦖☄️🦖
🔺NOTE: we apologize for the typo in this post as we fight injustice at the ready. We will share the edit on our Instagram Story for all of your reposting.
I expect the same number of likes and comments and hate messages as I got for the Greta post please and thank you! 🥰

this is the first page of my second book. for the past year it has been my mantra — a truth i have repeated to myself over and over and over again.
it doesn’t need to be perfect. only truthful.
to anyone out there that needs to hear this today — what if you don’t have to be good? only show up and be truthful.
what a freedom to awaken to.
I've got a whole lotta vintage, florals, neutral tones & nature-inspired patterns coming at ya in the womxn's drop next Monday! 🌾🖤

“Collectively, I would like to live in a world where women's bodies aren't governed, and one where equality isn't an aspiration but a norm in society.“

happy Wednesday y’all! i’m gonna be posting a good amount of photos over the next few days to increase the # of posts on this account, now that I only have one. they’ll feature some pretty dope people who i’ve had the pleasure to work with in the last 6 months: new work mixed in with some things I haven’t posted about yet. i’m going to be less text heavy but plan to include some written material too.
First up, photos from a piece I did on @beccaaceto for the #HewlettFoundation – an ambassador for Artemis Sportswomen and the communications coordinator at the Idaho Wildlife Federation. Becca’s a hunter, angler, educator, and an incredible activist who I’m so happy to have met. In the interview, we discuss her trajectory in this movement, the importance of increasing the representation of sportswomxn, and how she is contributing to this effort as an ambassador for Artemis.
For those who don’t know, Artemis is an initiative of the National Wildlife Federation that seeks to create space for women to support one another as hunters and anglers while uplifting their voices to the forefront of the conservation movement.
swipe for photos, taken on 📍Shoshone Land. for the interview, click through the bio and look for Hewlett interviews #2. Now that they’re all almost released, I will place them all there. Only one still hasn’t been published.
happy wednesday y’all! two more posts on the way. -michael

𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩 1 / 2.
i feel like i'm pretty good about sharing my human-ness on here and i never try to make my life look perfect or cooler than it is on this platform. i am indeed notably blessed with a life filled with many things that i know not everyone has, so this is not something i take for granted.
i also do my best to be really mindful about what i decide to share on here and WHEN-- particularly when it comes to vulnerable shares. vulnerability has been weaponized and sometimes somewhat bastardized on social media to the point where it is no longer authentic vulnerability-- it becomes oversharing.
i'm going through a lot of challenging transitions and awakenings that are affecting me in most aspects of my life lately. anxiety is at a high, i'm feeling like a jambalaya of emotions, and a lot feels simultaneously raw yet numb.
sometimes it feels weird to not share more details about this on here, but I know that if i were to post about it now, it would be an overshare and not a vulnerable share.
how do I distinguish the difference between the two?

🎨 Reposted from @inlandmujeres - 💚Group Show Deadline 10/18💚
Hey everyone this is just a reminder post for the October 18th deadline to submit work for ‘Las Matriacas: Group Art Show in honor of Dia De Los Muertos’.
✨Las Matriarcas Show ✨
Every November 1st & 2nd, the people from Mexico, parts of Central America and South America celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). It’s a day of remembrance and honoring the lives of those that have passed on to the afterlife. It is a time that is bittersweet, when altars are built in their honor, and the smell of cempasúchil and their favorite foods wash over homes for those left behind to rejoice.
This Call for womxn Artists is very special and dear to our hearts. We’ve created this show to bring us back to the roots of what Día de los Muertos is. We are calling for Womxn artists to create a portrait of a Matriarca (Matriarch) from their family that has passed away and they would like to honor. It is a very intentional art show where we will be celebrating these womxn that forged our lives and left behind a legacy in our familias. .
This show is to honor (we will not be selling the portraits but rather displaying) and show respect for our Matriarcas Mujeres. .
You are welcome to honor your mother, your tias, your abuelas, your sisters, the mujeres that are no longer here in the physical world, but are carried in our hearts constantly with the memories they left behind.
Deadline to submit the artwork is October 18th at 5pm via 📧 @[email protected] with the subject line: Las Matriarcas-November. You are welcome to submit 3 portraits. Upon submission you will receive a follow up email to drop off artwork the following week. We suggest that you email us as soon as possible. Process sketches are welcome, keep in mind that the artwork will be DUE the week of OCTOBER 21st.

Did you know that body image actually has nothing to do with our bodies, but is all about our mindset. And the good news is, if you are struggling with negative body image, our mindset is something we can actively work on and change. ⠀
Positive body image is something all of us can achieve and speaking from personal experience, it can drastically change your life. When I started working on my own body image, everything else in my life changed too. As I grew more confident in my own skin, I became more confident in my work and my abilities, I started attracting more positive and like-minded people into my life and developed the confidence to set and enforce boundaries for those that brought negativity and toxicity into my life.⠀
Are you ready to start feeling good about yourself and your body?⠀
