Oliver the Australian labradoodle is finished ❤️ He is part of this beautiful triple portrait together with Sophie and Lily the ragdolls 🐈 🐈. Commission for a lovely couple in the USA 🇺🇸.
I’ll be showing Sophie and Lily in the next following days! A little bit about Ollie from my clients words 🐕 🌲:
“Oliver is our almost 2 year old Australian Labradoodle. He is a bundle of energy, who always wants to give hugs and kisses or pick out toys from his toy box. He loves running circles around our pool, and sitting on the back of our couch to imitate his older cat sisters. He very much enjoys his role as annoying little brother 🤣”
Hi! This is Julia over at @thepaintboxletters! I’m so excited to bring you today’s prompt: Treasure! Swipe 💜 My favorite style of painting is galaxy silhouettes, but I decided to try out a little something different for this prompt—hope you like it! It’s not a complete departure from my style of painting though. I love combining line drawings with bright, bold galaxies, monochromatic drawing with bursts of color, hard lines with the fluidity of the night sky.
I’ve been a maker of things all my life, but I turned to painting and calligraphy when my youngest child started school. I was motivated and inspired to learn by my mom who is an accomplished artist in Korea. She didn’t start painting until she was in her 50s, and that didn’t stop her from being absolutely amazing at it!! I work with a number of different mediums, but my favorites to paint with are ink and watercolor paints. I also make my own botanical ink from all-natural materials sourced locally in Northwestern Pennsylvania. I’ve used everything from walnuts and acorns, leaves and flower petals, berries and bark to make ink.
When it comes to working with ink and watercolor, the most important thing to remember is to control the amount of water you use. Too much water, and you won’t be able to get clean lines. Too little water, and the paint won’t come off your brush. It takes a lot of patience and practice to figure out how to get the right amount of water and paint on your brush, so just take your time and practice, practice, practice! ....

Didn’t actually have time to draw today like I wanted, so here’s something I did a few weeks ago and then edited poorly so I could post it! (His other eye is...bad. Also so is his pinky because the angle was weird and I didn’t feel like shading it properly because I’m lazy. So,,,there’s that.)
Might delete this eventually because I want to try to draw this picture again! (I want to actually paint it though and hopefully not completely botch it like this time)
