A few ways to practice self-care and support black-owned businesses...
Many of us have been on emotional roller coasters trying to process recent events and find ways to contribute to the Black Lives Matter movement.
You do have to remember to take care of yourself so that you can be in a position to support others.
Here are some ways that you can practice self-care while still supporting black-owned businesses:
• Treat yourself to a delicious meal by ordering takeout or delivery from a local black-owned restaurant like I did (s/o to @urbanvegankitchen)
• Take a virtual workout class taught by a black fitness instructor
• Go for a walk and listen to a black-hosted podcast
• Don’t forget about your pet! Spoil them by supporting black-owned pet businesses (wearing a headband from one of our faves @brocknbone)
I will be highlighting more black-owned businesses in my stories and you can find all BLM-related resources in the stories highlight on my profile.
Please share any new black-owned businesses you’ve discovered recently. 🖤

"Hate. It has caused a lot of problems in this world, but it has not solved one yet." - Maya Angelou
I'm coming to talk about something important today. I've thought about doing a video, but tbh, I'm not ready to address that kind of subject on video yet. I have better writing than speaking skills 😅
Anyways, I see so many protests and rally going on these days, against racism and against police violence. And once again, I won't go to any. Same as I didn't go to the big one on climate change in September.
I've only went to one protest in my whole life and I hated it.
Now, before you jump on your high horse and start judging me, let me explain WHY.
As Maya Angelou quote says so well at the beginning of my post: Hate doesn't bring us anywhere. It only creates more problems.
And that's how I feel about the protest I went to and all the videos/photos I see taken at protests. People gets so mad, angry and filled with hatred!
By protesting AGAINST something, in this case racism and police violence. That's what you FOCUS ON. A big bunch of people gets together to focus on what they want to stop happening, but if you understand a bit how the Universe works, you know that what you focus on EXPANDS.
When you put you energy into something, it grows. It gets bigger. ✨
Mother Teresa understood that and said: " I will never attend an anti-war rally. If you have a peace rally, invite me."
And that's how I feel.
Instead of protesting against racism and police violence, why don't we rally for equality, justice & peace for all?
THAT, I'd be up for! ✨
Now, I know that all of you that start these protests and/or take part in them have ALL the good intentions in the world. I acknowledge you and I CHEER YOU ON, for stepping up and for your desire to change the world. I really, highly, value your voice and your intentions.
But until we have an equality, justice and/or peace for all rally, I'm gonna continue to do my part from my home. By signing petitions that I value and donating as much money as I can to causes that do good.
We're ALL doing the very best that we can with the knowledge, experiences and ressources that we have, so whatever you do, do it with love. ❤️

The Kidneys are known as 'the clock of the body". The true 'fountain of youth' lies in these organs.💧🙏
History points to scholars and physicians who achieved longevity by eating kidney herbs and tonics. In My Teaching to Posterity, a literary classic by a scholar named Yan Zhi-Tui in the 6th century, said, "I have been in the habit of eating kidney tonics throughout my life, which is why I could still read fine print when 70 years old with no gray hair on my head.". Even two emperors were famous for their longevity due to their regular practice of taking kidney tonics. ; Emperor Jia-Jing and Emperor Qian-Long.

I honestly don't know who to think of first bc one second I'm thinking about Lee Gon, the next thing I know I'm day dreaming about Tae Eul, then I'm thinking bout yeong and eun sup's wellbeing again, and then i get furious about lee lim and would want to kill him myself
And actually making the effort to understand and support the kids you teach. If you don't care about them they will know, if you don't help them thrive they will act out. Some classes do act out even with great teaching but as a rule most won't!
YOU CAN make a change | look for cause | resolve the real issues instead of focusing on the wrong problem but not before rest | plus rest needs to be a daily, to nurture the human being.
Trying to continue to do things whilst anxious, this causes more anxiety.👇🏼
Anxiety is a fear based emotion. Not always caused by fear but results In feeling fearful.
The body & or mind has perceived a danger, from our thoughts or from our body.
Stress in the mind
Stress in the body
Anxiety isn't the real problem the causes Are, but if you try to carry on regardless whilst anxious, the symptoms amplify, because the mind & body haven't forgotten you're in diar need for mind & body safety, you are trying to act like you arnt in need.
In order for you to be able to continue healthily you must create rest time. At first whilst feeling anxious, calm time can feel like a frenzy of stress inside but that's because the stress hormones like adrenaline are pumping from the stress response, & the mind is focused on danger/negative, it thinks we are in danger & wants to find the DANGER to avoid it.
WE must remind ourselves that adrenaline won't just switch off, it needs dimming down. There will be an element of discomfort, a bit like running up a hill, the heart will take some time before it stops beating so fast but it does.
Tell yourself you need it. Regularly.
Make that time happen
Try breathing excersises
Drink some water
Silent reflection. Pick something you enjoy to do in the quiet, if you are not sure what. It's time to explore.
Sit outside to watch, listen, smell.
Light music, listen to the melody.
Write a small story about a character you like.
Etc. Will help you distract thoughts rather than fighting them. Fighting causes anxiety.
Sit with it.
🗣My body just needs time, the more regular time I give it, the more I will heal, rebalance, show my body safety and that I am not in danger.=less Anxiety & now I can think, & act.

Hey Ya’ll 👋🏽 There as has been a SIGNIFICANT increase of followers on my page (which I’m super grateful for!) and I wanted to do a brief intro and lay out a couple ground rules for my page ⭐️.
.💗My name is Jazmine and I'm a 23-year-old Black-Mexican creator (I’ll dig into what this time means for me as a mixed gal soon) Though I’m predonmintaly using my IG page to educate and inform y’all on local matters and #BLM, I created this page 4 years ago to explore my passion of sustainable fashion and living , WHICH CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT ADDRESSING SOCIAL JUSTICE ‼️ I’m not at all an expert, but I love to invite you on my journey of navigating a low-impact lifestyle and advocating for change💗.
. 💚But outside of IG + activism I love to dress up, dance, watch tiktoks, play with my cat, cook a meal for my friends, put a puzzle together, talk about the enneagram and faith, go on walks w/ my hubby @ratmogers , and tend to my indoor garden💚.
. ⭐️NOW FOR SOME GROUND RULES⭐️:
1. Don’t tell me or other black/mixed black creators how to feel, what to do/say. You are here to LISTEN, not to preach.
2. Don’t expect me to answer all of your questions and educate you. Me, black creators, and other allies are already putting plenty of resources out there and a simple google search can help you find your answers. Black people are holding so many burdens now we can not be expected to hold yours too.
3. My page is all about grace, but don’t expect me to have to keep congratulating you for your solidarity work or to keep making you feel better if you make a mistake. Just know that with ANY journey you WILL make mistakes and THAT’S OK! There will always be failure but don’t let it stop you and don’t wait for us to make you feel better about it.
. OK LOVE YALLLLLL BYEEEE 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛-𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙣𝙤𝙬?
I spoke with a client earlier this week and she shared with me how HEAVY she was feeling.
There’s so much heaviness right now in the collective.
It gets to be there.
As Empaths, we will especially feel the combination of fear, pain, guilt, shame, & sadness that’s sweeping our nation right now.
I asked her how she was handling these feelings, and she admitted that while she was not engaging in binge eating or drinking, she was keeping herself “busy” with frivolous activities that depleted her energy.
Those of us who have, in the past, avoided these emotions & sensations through extreme dieting, exercising, binge eating and binge drinking may feel a familiar pull to numb out and reach for those old mechanisms.
𝙄 𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡.
𝙄 𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜.
By witnessing and allowing ALL of our emotions, we are empowered to heal and transcend.
When we deny the “ugly” ones, we deny parts of ourselves, which ultimately sets our healing back.
Self-care is 𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 for our healing process during this time.
We are holding so much intense energy in our bodies right now. -
I invite you to slow down.
To listen to your body’s needs.
To give yourself the space you need to emote.
Your usual self-care routine may not fit your current needs right now.
Maybe just a walk in nature
A bubble bath
Anything that allows you to s l o w down and reconnect to your heart and body.
Your body knows.
Listen to her.
Sending love to all beings.🤍
MOTIVATION "You won't open new doors if you're using old keys"
If you want change then you need to make change. You cant expect to see a different outcome whilst doing the same thing everyday and guess what change require effort so if you want something then you need to be willing to work for it. You need to be willing to work through bumps in the roads and getting back on track when you get off it.
You want change then earn it.
Ae bet you must be so exhausted some days.
Giving as much as you do, sharing your energy so beautifully in service to the highest good, can leave you feeling depleted, like an empty well.
If it feels as if there's no more water for you, the good news is we have a plan: today, go take a relaxing bath.
Book a massage, read a novel, buy yourself flowers or plants something in your garden.
Make time for self-care, not more "work on yourself." By tending to yourself now, you are reminded to do so more often. And be sure to use a word that might have caused you anxiety in the past but essential for your well-being now: No!
Say it with us: No, thank you.
No, I can't.
You do not have to explain just say no, gently but firmly, then go for a soak.
Life will wait for you to bring yourself back to center, replenished and ready for more adventure.
We love you so very much...."

Aren’t fresh herbs on top of your food the best!
These little plants are powerhouses when it comes to natural medicine. Here’s just some of their medicinal properties: 🌱Mint- amazing for digestion and reducing bloating
🌱Oregano- strong antibacterial and anti fungal 🌱Sage- great for sore throats and reducing hot flushes
🌱Basil- full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds, as well as supports the nervous system during stress (pesto for stress- yes please!)
🌱Thyme- great all round antimicrobial herb. Has a huge affinity for infections in the lungs
🌱Rosemary- improves cognition and assists to remove excess oestrogen from the body
To grow in water, just pop the whole herb including the stems, not just the leaves, into a jar and place on a window that it will get the most amount of sunlight daily.
To keep them thriving, cut off the fully grown leaves for usage and this will encourage new growth.
You can use you herbs by adding fresh to foods or steeping in water as a tea.

When you love, you care. You adore the object of your love and you take responsibility of their wellbeing. I hope Chelsy and Cressida find that in their current relationships.
Compartilho aqui uma frase que possui total sentido para mim, uma vez que não há nada material que nos equilibre e preencha, se não formos capazes de cultivar o bem dentro (e prática-lo fora) de nós. 😊

For the safety & wellbeing of our teams end their respective seasons having spent the most active account….
Should statements ! Let’s talk about them. Ever found yourself saying “I should be productive” “I should be Normal” “I should be happy” “I should like this” “I should be living this particular way”
Should statements trick us into believing that there is something wrong with us. That we “should” be a particular way and when we’re not it means that we’re faulty.
None of us are perfect and we all have shortcomings. There is no “normal”, so what is it your really striving for ? By using the term normal we’re reaffirming that we or our current reality is not. -
My normal is not yours. And your normal isn’t the next persons. What is your definition of normal? Ask yourself what it is you really mean by that and maybe it’ll be easier to achieve it. Maybe saying that “I want to be normal” is a disguise for “I want to be organised in my day to day life.” By changing the statement we can see a bit more clearly what it is what we want and how to get there. Maybe it means you create a schedule for yourself ? Or maybe a to do list. -
Replace should statements with more encouraging words. Don’t fall into the distortion that you should be any particular way.
An example being is “Im not as productive as I want to be and that’s okay. I’m human I shouldn’t feel guilty it’ll just make me put it off more. I’ll sit down and try to do five minutes”. And who knows with that self compassion, you might do more. And if you don’t, show yourself compassion in that situation too. -
what are your should statements ? And what encouraging words can you tell yourself to battle it. And what do you mean by Normal? -
Follow @boxofrediscovery and let’s rediscover ourselves together. -

Opinions desperately needed. how does one get urgent crisis help when no sense of safety on crisis lines, in a&e, crisis teams, due to the trauma they caused? How do you get rid of dangerous meds, that you need to avoid ODing but also do need to take every day?

I'm shocked at how many people ignore it or actively try to change the subject when it is brought up. Or give a reason why they think it's not an issue.
HEALING 💗 first and foremost is accountability. Account - ability. Ability to consider, reckon, account, journal, balance sheet. .
It is understanding that you, and only you are responsible, blessed and skilled to heal yourself.
When we talk about holistic healing, we must understand that it is not only healing of your Body, Mind and Spirit. Healing yourself will trigger healing of your family lineage, Ancestors.
Your community and the World.
By stepping into the path of Healing, we innerstand that it is a way of Life NOT an event.
And we must remember that healing, as we mentioned - it's accountability. It is facing stuff, we've been avoiding.
It's being uncomfortable, facing issues that can be embarrassing, being confronted with things that make us feel like shit, facing the shadow self, a lot of tears even vomitting and purging in all sorts of ways. It is committing to being truthful, calling out injustice, working for justice in the World, your World. ❣️🔊For my white people especially🔊
***It's not possible to be healed and a healer while practising racism and other isms for that matter (consciously or not , remember👉🏻 accountability ) *** ❣️
❣️ If you are white in this day and age and consider yourself 'conscious' , then you must know that one of your calling is to work to restore justice and natural order, is to remove yourself from the center, this is our inheritance and we have to step up to the plate.
Without it, there is no healing. None.
Holistic healing is discomfort, unlearning, unearthing, listening without " but's"
And that's when by healing yourself, you start healing the World.
#accountability #manifestation#victimmentality#whitefragility#dnarepair#dnaactivation#traumarelease#traumaalchemy #holistichealth
#wholistichealth #mentalhealthawareness #wellness
By simply changing the way you deal with what comes to you on a daily basis you'll start realising that each one of the things that happen to you are just consequences of one or a few choices that you made either consciously or unconsciously at some point.
Let's say you had a work meeting while having a coffee at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, because of the amount of caffeine in your body you couldn't sleep properly, then you woke up the next day feeling exhausted and went to work, because you were so tired you couldn't get much work done plus you missed that appointment with a big client, which leaded to your boss calling you for a meeting the day after, you get home at night after a shitty day and have a fight with your partner and yell at your kids... Can you see how much a single choice can impact your whole life?
Start being aware of each little choice you have and what might be the consequences of them beforehand. So you don't have to convince yourself and others that you had no other choice. As cliche as it sounds, you always have a choice.
Start using "I choose to" and "I want to" instead of "I need to" and "I have to" and you'll notice how in control of your life you are and that everything you go through is a choice made by nobody but you. So choose it wisely.
