We love how tiny this street art is, how easy to miss. It reminds us that we create the world we live in based on what we choose to focus on. At Mindstead, we see so much beauty in staying present and having gratitude for all the small things that bring us joy, especially when the bigger things can be shaky.
I was talking to a client this week that happens to be the only woman and person of color on her entire team. She’s also the leader of the team. 🦸🏽♀️
She keeps being fed unsolicited advice from her colleagues that have experienced vastly different journeys and circumstances.
“If only you said it this way. That worked for me.” 🤯
I asked her about what she wanted her legacy to be and it was clear that she was not on the well paved path, she was on the weedy trail. Through conversation, it was clear that heads were starting to turn as her colleagues couldn’t believe how far she had gotten on such rough grounds. 👀
Create and trust your own trail 🛤 We are in times where you have to make a choice about what path you want to be on. Make a decision and stick to it. Once others see your unconventional progress, they will eventually follow along. When you get discouraged, be sure to occasionally look back to see how far you have come.

How can we adapt training during COVID-19? Things you can initiate right now to stay on track ⚡️ Some of you are already taking initiative and doing these things but I wanted to share with y’all what I have been implementing into my life and with my clients.
At least purchasing some bands and utilizing at home workouts as frequent as possible.
We’re not able to push as hard as we usually do in the gym so you can without a DOUBT increase training frequency, hell even go for 2 a days. You can do a push workout in the morning and then a pull workout in the evening and the next day you’ll be ready for legs!
If you have even more time on your hands then you can even work out every day, with enough recovery your body will adapt! Just make sure you’re fueling your body enough and resting when you think is necessary.
Truly learning to push towards failure even with body weight & minimal equipment, as long as you are putting for the energy and effort your body will more than likely retain the muscle you have.
If you don’t have bands/min equipment use beach towels or extra sheets like a TRX machine. Don’t tell me you don’t have these to try out.
If you’ve been in pain with a mild injury or your mobility sucks, take advantage of this time and come back in the gym in a better position than where you left!
If you usually get shit sleep, NOW IS THE TIME to get more in. You have no idea what a couple extra hours will do for your body.
If your body is used to walking around for work all day then you NEED to keep that up. Try for 10K steps a day, for me that’s just 1 20-30min walk in the morning and evening.
Hell you could even use this time as recovery and I’m sure some might feel like you never catch a break, this could be a great time to do so.
Now you can do more research for your training goals and even develop a new protocol for when gyms do open back up.

Trillions of microscopic organisms—or microbes—call your body home.
Crazy, right?😝 What’s even more, about 95 percent of those microbes live in your gut.😳 This is where the name “gut microbiome” (or “microbiome” for short) comes from. It refers to the place in your gut where all of these ever-so-necessary microbes (bacteria, viruses, and fungi, etc) reside. Some of these microbes are beneficial to our health, but others are detrimental.
