Some epic shots of our fencer, Teodora Kakhiani, fencing and getting coached by our head coach Matteo in Montreal, Quebec at the Women’s Sabre Grand Prix! 🤩🇨🇦
Teo had to overcome a lot of frustrating obstacles to be able to compete in Montreal last weekend. We are proud of her determination as she pushed through and fought hard!🤺 Looking forward to her next tournament! 🌊🤺☀️
Unsure about fencing as a choice of sport for your child?🤔
There are many benefits of fencing, including improving hand-eye coordination, balance, and reflexes. Fencing also requires full concentration, which can improve your child's focus level in school! Many colleges offer scholarships for fencing, as well.
Learn more at our Fencing Open House at Bensonhurst, tomorrow and Sunday. There are still open slots available for beginners. Click the link in our bio to reserve your spot for FREE!

“I suggest to all my students to accept yourself. You are living in the world of competition. In continuous comparison. You are thinking always on the past, or on the future, and missing the present that is the only reality. Accept yourself as you are. This is the way existence wants you to be.” - Dr. Aladar Kogler

The last time my Grandfather saw his village was when he was 16 years-old. He was born to a family that had been financially impaired while living under Mussolini’s rule. Growing up poor was difficult for him, but he found ways of passing the time. When he arrived in New York harbor and stepped foot upon his new Country, he did not speak a word of English. However; he worked. And he studied. And he learned. And it wasn’t long before he fought, too — as he voluntarily joined the US Army. He earned his place in our Culture. He raised three beautiful children, the middle child my Father, and lives quietly now. It wasn’t until recently that my Grandfather shared with me a small fact about his youth I never knew. He inquired to a knee injury I had and how it came about. (A bone tumor I discovered while fencing.) I explained this to him, only for him to reply;
“Oh — I used to fence the boys in Troia all of the time when we were kids. Some of their fathers fenced. We couldn’t afford the swords, so we just used sticks.” A minor fact it may be, it was humbling. It is always a great experience realizing something you love flows through your veins. 🤺🇮🇹🇺🇸✊🏻
