Anna Snyder(1800-1873), Real Daughter of the American Revolution, resting at Fairmount Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana.
The D.A.R. plaque reads:
Daughter of George Sparks, a Revolutionary Soldier. Placed by Wythougan Chapter, D.A.R. 1928.
The Daughters of the American Revolution official insignia consists of a treadle wheel(also known as a linen wheel/spinning wheel) with 13 spokes and 13 stars. The piece we see behind the wheel is sometimes mistaken for a flag, but it’s actually flax. (Treadle wheels were used to spin flax into linen.)
The hub of the wheel represents patriotism, and the spokes represent the lines of duty laid down to be followed. The 13 lines of duty are:
1. The flag
2. Patriotic education
3. Marking historic spots and buildings
4. Locating Revolutionary soldiers graves and marking them
5. Historical research and the preservation of records
6. Civics and welfare work
7. Southern mountain schools
8. Tracing old trails and marking them
10. Red Cross and war relief
11. Real daughters
12. Charity and philanthropy
The rim of the wheel represents love and charity encircling and binding together the interests and endeavors of the organization. The 13 stars represent not only the 13 colonies, but also beacons of light to illuminate the way to these endeavors. The flax behind the wheel represents the labor in it all. The D.A.R. was founded in 1890.
(The insignia in photo three is not with this marker. I used it to provide a larger example of the insignia for better viewing.)
@SenateGOP Hey Mitch. Your tombstone should read "DEAD ON ARRIVAL" at the throne of GRACE and MERCY which you will not receive for your defiance of Gods Son and HIS WORD. He died even for the likes of you. REPENT!
Chillin on a Friday night watching Tombstone....one of my favorites! If you’ve never watched it, go watch it. So many great lines!

A moment of frivolity: There is a tombstone at St. Thomas A Becket Church in Box, Wiltshire, shaped as a pyramid: this to prevent the widow dancing on her deceased husband's grave. Now that is planning ahead!

One of my villagers told me they had a present for me that they made as a hobby. It was a tombstone, was this a threat?
