Remember the days when MTV was something you really WANTED? I can still smell my Coppertone, it’s actually room spray and SPH 50 now but hey, being grounded is more important than being golden brown. When I stretch I grow but you can still see my snack pack. #getreal#saturday#thatgirl#always#grateful
Just a girl and her #tripod
Sometimes it’s a little embarrassing being #ThatGirl in the park (or in front of the fence around the corner from my house 😉) with her tripod and cell phone having a full on photo shoot 📸 but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do to bring the world a little more Sunshine. 🔆 #Cheese#SideHustle#FollowYourPassion ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Advice to the younger version of myself: Don’t change. Just learn.
It’s Father’s Day this weekend. My Baba would be 80 now. It’s a special thing to see your parents at the end of their life. For my friends who have experienced this, my strength to you. For those who have not yet, I will save my strength for you. A story with my dad that I don’t share often: My dad and I were biking on the Ottawa River Parkway when I was about 10 years old. I lagged behind him quite far, struggling to keep up. He eventually came back to see that my chain was off the cog mechanism, but instead of stopping and asking for help, I continued to push myself on my bike, so slowly, but forward I went. Baba recounted this story to me later in life because I “never give up” and I began to relate this as a metaphor for my journey, especially as I have become more reflective of my experiences. The journey doesn’t become easier or harder, it does, however, become easier to understand and maneuver.
Happy Father’s Day to all the boys and girls who are boys.

"Its the thought that counts." I believe those words.
Yesterday I was carrying some grocery bags, which were a bit heavy I admit. It was a 25 minute walk to my place and I couldn't get a ride, so I had no choice but to walk. I kept taking short breaks just to breathe, and as I was walking I passed by this girl. About 3-4 mins later that girl catches up to me, and I could tell she ran because of the way she was breathing when she spoke. She said "I'm sorry for walking by earlier and not asking if you needed help, I saw you stopping and breathing heavily. Can I help you, it looks heavy." I was surprised. There were guys and girls whom I saw before her and they never said anything. And this girl, she was wearing a dress and had heels, I could tell she was going somewhere. Although I didn't accept her offer, I thanked her saying "I'm sorry you had to run back, I really appreciate it." She was still apologetic and insisted to help but I mentioned I'd be fine, then we parted ways. Her kindness was enough to make me smile and it almost felt like I had gained some extra strength. There is still some goodness in this world. A small act of kindness can go a long way. It may brighten someone's day, it could save someone's life. You never know. 🍃❣🍃❣
