What a day!!
✔️Our Kids K I L L T it 🔪💪 so freaking #proud of them!!! They podiumed in ALL 3 divisions we had!
✔️AND... our TEEN girls had to move up to the ADULT division and held their own against 47 other teams 10 years older than them!! 😳💁 #NBD
✔️AAND our grown up guys and gals did AMAZING, #obvi
✔️AAAND our @ternweightlifting crew lifted EVERYTHING and @keeppulling is winning at life 🏋️🏋️♀️.
✔️and.. AND... I was #proudAF to be on a team with these badass chicks @taylarmade and @bryleigh.marie! 💪 It was a legit battle all day, but our strengths played to our advantage, and we took home da W!!🏆🥇 #taylarsnatchedahouse 🏠 #tilldeathdidiburpee 💀 #thankGodBryleighisgymnasty 🤸♀️.

We had 11 teams compete!! E-FREAKING-LEVEN. 😯 Being at a gym with this kind of #crossfitcommunity and support is THE. BEST. I loved seeing the sea of black and gold shirts EVERYWHERE and I had an absolute BLAST getting to watch everyone compete!! And it's always way more fun dying a little inside when you have so many ppl screaming their faces off for you. It is SO SUPER MUCH appreciated!! 🤗.

One of the most common mistakes when performing movements like the pull-up or the dip is the crossing of the legs. Crossing your legs when performing movements like these compromises the position of your spine which has adverse effects on other joints like the shoulders. Internal rotation of the shoulders and the over extension of the spine are the side effects of crisscrossing our legs.
This is one of the main reasons why you will never see gymnasts crossing their legs. Instead you will notice them pointing their toes.
The pointing of the toes while performing movements like the dip or the pull-up helps to promote a stable position throughout the spine and maximize glute and core tension which protects the spine from over extension (rib cage flare). Over extension is an unstable position which applies the load to the skeletal structure instead of the larger and more powerful surrounding muscle groups like the glutes and core, which work to protect our spine.
Another way of thinking about it is pointing your toes helps to connect the upper and lower parts of the body, while crossing the legs has the opposite effect. Next time you are working on your strict pull-ups or dips pay attention to the position of your feet.

What a day yesterday competing with these animals @bryleigh.marie and @itsthegym_notarunway, at @wodwarsfl. We literally played to our strengths all day which worked well for us. It was legit a battle back and forth with the beasts of Westchase, and ended in a true tie for 1st! The tie breaker being the heaviest snatch (thank god!) Haha .
But what was more incredible was seeing the amazing support from our Flock at @terncrossfit . Our crossfit kids podium in every division including top spots in 2 of them. Everybody showed up and showed out yesterday. .
And on top of all that, our weightlifting crew at Tern, @keeppullingwlc , put on a successful meet at the same time running 2 platforms with so many top and great performances of the day! .
Thank you @terncrossfit for supporting us and believing in us. It means the world. To the volunteers, judges and Wod wars crew, you guys put on an amazing, smooth, and fun event! Thank you to the entire Flock for your cheers, support, and everything! Lisa and @movemassrunfast for taking taping me up and helping me hold my shoulder and pec together just in time for game time. And lastly, but not least, my love, @dreamadavidson, thank you for always being the MVP. Thank you for everything you do for me! .

3-0!!! With yesterday's W, that makes us undefeated in the regular season for all 3️⃣ years the @flgridleague has existed!! 🎯🔙 We had to dig deeeeepp yesterday in our toughest match this season!! Them @orlandoaces were as tough as we knew they'd be! Very proud of my team for pushing as hard as they did, making adjustments right before the match, and even on the fly when needed. Excited for playoffs!!

278 ➡️ 293 in 6 months when in the past it's taken me a YEAR to get 5 lbs! It was definitely weird not celebrating when I first PRd at 284 since I didn't know it happened 🤣 but totally worth it after. I wanted to go for 300 but @taylarmade said no 🤣 "heavy single!!" But yeah.. 300. I'm comin fo yaa!!!
I've PRd 4 times in 2 weeks. 6 if you count that I PRd twice at cleans and back squats when it happened lol 💁♀️. I love when things feel good. #thatswhatshesaid When the hard work pays off. This is what we chase!! It doesn't happen often. Gotta let it sink in and enjoy it when it does 😎
