🤷🏻♀️✌🏻Stop living for other people’s approval. Who cares?•
I used to DIE for other people’s approval of me. I had to make everyone around me happy. But guess who WASN’T HAPPY!?•
Yep, me. So I started filtering my decisions through my core values: faith, family, personal growth.•
Not the opinion of Linda from Facebook, or Susan from work, or Gary from down the street. Their approval of my decisions means nothing to my happiness. •
Other people don’t have to deal with the consequences of your life: you do! So make sure each decision you make lines up with what YOU want and need.✨
This desk diagram from @headoverheelsforteaching to guide her students in organizing their desks is BRILLIANT. Personally, I have my students keep their desks backwards and we don’t store anything in them. But if I were going to have them store anything in there, THIS is the way to do it.
This is function > fashion but this @target sweatshirt dress may be the best thing to ever happen to me! 💃🏼 It’s so dang comfy and $24.99! (also comes in pink and creme) It was the perfect thing to throw on this gloomy morning and run out the door 🚪!
DECIMALS 👉🏼 In our first lesson on decimals I wanted to provide opportunities for the children to link to what they already know - fractions. The aim was to clearly describe what a decimal is, using visual examples. We looked specifically at 10ths using place value disks, magnetic fraction pieces and a number line. To facilitate their conceptual understanding we connected it to a cake. ‘Show me as a decimal/fraction how much I’ve eaten if I’ve had three tenths’ .... ‘Now show me on the #numberline how much I would have eaten if I only had one slice left - what would the decimal/fraction be’ etc Providing direct comparisons to something familiar makes their learning more meaningful and hopefully more memorable too. 👍#fractions #decimals#introduction#learningnewthings
