Im working in my dinning room today because its so sunny outside and dont want to work in my basement for this cutie. Ajust the ears and face of Max. I know, there is a lot of slippage in the ears. This cat was not in good shape when i receive it. The time between death and freezer was too long. I will fix it later. .
Working on my first domestic cat, hope Max will look good when it will be done and dry and will be placed in my living room forever. My husband dont want any more (live) cats... so i will fill my house with taxidermy insteed... im I crazy ? Anyway, a lot of work I must continue :)
Sorry for those who are sensible about me mounting a domestic cat, but this one was gifted from the owner, and she is really ok with this. She is glad that her friend Max is now with me and she love the idea of thinking he is well and healthy with his new owner (me). The remains will be buried in my personal pet cemetery and the skull will be cleaned and returned to the owner. This is the kind of service i want to offer to people who wants to keep their loving pets forever. Personnaly its not the thing i will choose when my pets will died, they will be in my pets cemetery, but i respect this choice and want to offer it to those who want it.
Thank you 🖤

Enough for today, tomorrow i will build a tail for max ! He will need a good shampoo too, he have greasy fur 🤭
Not bad for my first domestic kitty. I have other feral cats in my freezer, i will make another one real soon 😊
I love him so much.
Progress pic of a Burrowing Owl I’ve been working on with my dear assistant, Paloma.
This little guy is so grumpy! It kills me.
Why the pins and string? It’s to weigh the feathers down and keep them smooth as it drys. The pins held the feet in place when Paloma injected them with resin.
After a day, I’ll remove all that and we’ll sculpt & paint needed areas.
*FYI Burrowing Owls are federally protected in the US. This belongs to a nature center with proper permits.*
