Ginger loves to play hide-and-seek. 😉
Time for an update!
She gained weight, there are no longer ribs visible or bones sticking out. After two weeks! Her back legs and her front leg have an occasional limp, but it's nothing compared to the way she was 'walking' before. It's getting better every day.
Her social progress is visible, however in tiny steps. She is instigating contact with the dogs and cats in the house and she's playing!! Really playing with - the donated 🙏 - squeaky toys, it's adorable to witness! 😍
She's still very afraid of people. When boarding at the veterinarian, she bit one of the assistants while she was bathing her.. 😢 She isn't an aggressive dog, but extremely fearful and we know in our hearts that she can be socialized. It will just take time, effort and - someday - the right home with the right people.
There is no direct contact (yet) with her fostermom yet, but she isn't running away as panicked as before. She lays down a few meters away from her - instead of hiding in the bushes. We take it slow and give her the time she needs!
We won't spay (high fence, no escape attempts either) or do any further treatment needing direct contact, until she's ready. She is on oral medication, antibiotics and treatment for her ringworm. We don't want to throw away what we've accomplished and don't want to traumatize her even more!
Keep sending positive thoughts to our girl Ginger!! 🙏❤️ #ginger#recovering#takingourtime#patience#love#care#perseverance#fosteringsaveslifes#progressisaprocess#arubarescue#sgtpeppersfriends

The Z Queens first dressage show is in the books! ...well kinda 😜 I took her to a local dressage show today as a non compete just so she could be exposed to a show atmosphere without the pressure and nerves of actually showing. She handled everything really well! The snow, the rain, the announcer, the dressage ring, the judges table, the thundering fresians... she was great! I was reminded today of just how bright my future with this horse could be ♥️ PS do you like how I put the second picture in black and white so you can’t see how disgusting her tail is?? 😂 But now I’m looking at the first picture and ewwww so honestly whatever 😂 It’s been too cold to wash it so a dirty tail it is!

Moments like these were part of our dreams!! Paint in my messy hair, no make up on and all by the side of my hottie 🥰.
🌈 We manifested a home on the north shore of Kauai for about 8 years. We looked at countless properties, homes and were even going to go “OFF THE GRID” and build. Then our home 🏠 came up. It wasn’t for the faint hearted. A full “renovators delight”, (I call it) but with tons of potential, tons of space, open and airy. Winds and moon 🌝 rises from from the east, sunsets 🌅 in the West. We can keep all doors open with no mosquitoes 🦟 unlike jungle cottages we’ve rented in the past.
When we bought our home 🏠 It had doors you couldn’t even slide open, glass windows that would possibly and did break if you opened them too hard, an unseen Hanalei mountain and Mount Namahana views ⛰. But we didn’t care. Aaron and I knew we could do all the work, we’ve been a dream team for over 20 years. Even though we may take years to do it, we will do it. We are super grateful to have a roof over our heads, a shower💧 to wash in, a kitchen to share family meals, a garden to grow food 🥑 and most importantly a safe haven to raise and have fun with Levi ❤️❤️
. You may drive past our home and it’s half painted, it’s because we still have to work, surf 🏄♀️and play with Levi!! Every moment we get like this is so fun and we get to crank up the music 🎵 joke with each other and create!! Oh and we have killer 180 mountain ⛰ views now since different homes in the neighbourhood have cutdown trees!!! Amazing Hanalei mountain views and Mount Namahana. Tonight’s huge Full moon 🌕 was in all its glory to us. Feeling grateful!!!!
It’s a brand new term and we’re TAKING OUR TIME....
in Week One.
Even if we still know the drills and all the others in our class, we give ourselves permission to take things a little slower.
We are setting new targets and getting to know ourselves better in the water one splash at a time.
Looking for your child to learn to swim?
We have a brand new Level One class on a Thursday at 5pm at Swim Works Rugby with our fantastic teacher Olivia.
We have just a few spaces left on others days..... we would love to see you.
If your child can swim 5 or metres or more... give us a call, we will find the perfect class for you.
