Give me all the single bananas 🍌

Bananas in plastic!?!?! This violent hippy disapproves...

Not an ad - I hate that I now feel I have to say that when I post things. But as you already know, this was a surprise gift from @garnieruk a few weeks ago.
You voted for me to do a 2 week trial of these new Vegan products, so I have, and I have some thoughts for you.
Firstly, no I won’t be giving up my @muradskincareuk / @caudalie serum and moisturiser combo. I don’t think anything could make me do that. And I also feel that if you’re going to invest in premium skincare - it’s the moisturiser and hydrating serum where your money is best spent.
BUT I am going to be making a switch for the detox gel wash, hydrating mist, and the hand rescue balm.
The first reason being that these bottles are made from 100% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable. Something I recently realised my Simple products weren’t! Which to be frank is no longer acceptable.
Secondly because I genuinely think my skin feels brighter. I’ve noticed a more refreshing vibe to my complexion. And if I can get that while going vegan and recyclable - well why wouldn’t I?
To address a couple of questions I’ve received on these products - yes they’re a vegan formula, yes these are recyclable and made from recycled materials. And NO Garnier don’t sell in mainland China and their products aren’t tested on animals. That is only their parent company, not Garnier. .
Teaching my children about the planet we live on is very important to me. I am teaching them that we have to take care of our world and all of its inhabitants (even the spiders and sharks, which I have finally come to terms with). Incorporating this into everyday play is essential and giving Edwin toy animals to play with and talking about them is a great way to do this early on. Thanks to @babysensorygloucester for helping me with this at class this morning - Edwin was very taken with this turtle (much to the delight of Daddy who also loves Turtles @papaintraining).
With Mog, we have found some great books from @gloucestershire_libraries that have helped. There are some good books for toddlers that are interesting enough to keep them engaged, whilst explaining things such as weather, seasons, volcanoes (a personal favourite)...all sparking her interest in how amazing our planet is and helping then explain concepts such as recycling. #sustainability#sustainableliving#whodoesntloveaturtle

WORLD BEE DAY :: Did you know that at least 30% of the world’s crops and 90% of all plants require cross-pollination to spread and thrive? Bees get busy by pollinating billions of plants each year, including millions of agricultural crops. Pollinators like bees play a key role in one out of every three bites of food we eat. Without them, many plants we rely on for food would simply perish. Their role is vital in the growth of tropical forests, savannah woodlands, and temperate deciduous forests. Think of the ethereal weeping willow or the poetic poplar. Without bees these trees would cease to exist. Our existence depends on these hard workers, and yet we are causing incredible harm to bee populations. The use of pesticides and insecticides is the main cause of their rapid decline. We must stop and utilize biodynamic farming techniques to feed our world and protect these precious creatures who sustain LIFE. How can we help? Plant bee-friendly flowers and flowering herbs in your garden. Lilacs, lavender, sage, verbena, and wisteria, mint, cosmos, squash, tomatoes, pumpkins, sunflowers, oregano, rosemary, poppies, passion flower vine, honeysuckle just to name a few. And now this is going to frazzle some minds but sustainable beekeeping is imperative to improve bee populations. Many vegans are very against honey, but it is a scientific fact that responsible bee keepers are the key to protecting bees. Sustainable bee keeping is done in a way where no bees are harmed in the process. Bees get thirsty and dehydrated, a bird bath or a little basin of water ensures they get the hydration they need to continue with their magic! Let’s love our world a little more and care for the creatures who allow us to thrive and be nourished! I have tagged some of my favorite humans who help the world by sharing sustainable tips and facts about climate change. For the bee, let’s get back to nature and love on it. Happy Monday lovers. ✨

Today is world bee day and thought I should show you these. I can’t take all the credit. Rhum @theclaphamcarpenter is a natural and doesn’t believe anything is impossible. It’s him up the tree and me helping the swarm into their new home where, three weeks later, they seem happy and well settled. Hopefully, we’ll be able to extract some honey at the end of the summer. #ruralbliss#Suffolk#bedandbreakfast#thegoodlife#sustainableliving
