A lawsuit against face-scans in China could have big consequences.
Guo Bing, an academic, has filed an action in China, claiming a forced face-scan violated his privacy.
Facial-recognition technology is widely used in China. Doubtless to the relief of the government, which makes extensive use of it, there has been little public debate.
State media, however, seized on Mr Guo’s case, trumpeting it as the first of its kind in a Chinese court.
Netizens have been hailing Mr Guo as a champion of consumer rights.

When you enter a new building make sure you make a mental note of where the exits are.⠀
You should make an effort to do this for all the places you regularly visit.⠀
If a risky situation was to arise, then you already know where you are going to run too.⠀
In restaurants and cafes there may be more than one fire exit and due to health and safety reasons there is almost always an exit through the kitchen.⠀
Many people will not know about or use the fire exit in the kitchen of a restaurant. This means it could be a great fast escape and away from any chaotic crowds.⠀
Bodyguards will always walk the exits first so they have seen the way out with their own eyes. Do this too if you can.⠀

they are few and far between but there are survivors. the way we behave around them is as crucial as with the ones left behind, if not more so.
their safety is so fragile. wherever you lead or carry them, they will always be in this world that mercilessly and unfeelingly gazes back. what lies beyond their sheds and cages still isn’t total liberation.
hate to apply such pressure but mistakes - even if you meant the best - can land them in line for one of the most terrifying deaths imaginable. homes and sanctuaries get raided, people take matters into their own hands and things can get scary pretty quickly.
