🐸 Frog pose. You may think your hips are open until you try this pose. Huge benefits come with this pose, but it requires that you stay with it, and that’s what I’ve observed is the hardest thing. Why is it so hard to stay in discomfort? When did we get idea that we are not/never supposed to be uncomfortable? What if you turned that around and decided to pursue discomfort because that is a door to growth, & a greater version of yourself? If you can manage to stay in frog pose consistently (90 seconds - 3 minutes), it will transform your body. Yes. Transform your body physically and energetically. Practice pulling up the pelvic floor the entire time to activate the energy originating from the pelvic floor up the spine and through all of the upper chakras. The mind awakens as you breathe to encourage the slow opening of the pelvic girdle and finally releasing all the shit you've stored away in your hips. You may feel emotional. Let it all happen. Can you retain an equanimous mind through this experience? Are you in perpetual reaction mode in your life? Frog pose teaches mind control. We practice on the mat in a safe space what we eventually need to do #irl . How you do yoga is how you eventually do everything. that is the purpose of your yoga mat & the practice. Roll it out, try something new, and see what happens. You will face discomfort, doubt, fear, shame, ego, false gratification, and a deep humbling. The key to establishing growth is to practice new and more life affirming reactions while you face all that shit. Our thoughts produce feelings that create behaviors. So when we think that noone understands or ever will, we begin to feel that way. Our world gets darker as negative thoughts intensify, creating all kinds of emotional pain. If left undealt with - these feelings can lead to severe forms of anxiety, depression or other mental health issues. Sadly, there is a major stigma that prevents people from speaking out about their troubled thoughts. Fears of being shamed, rejected and labeled as crazy, insane, pyscho or one who needs to be institutionalized scare people from coming forward. Or when they do ask for help, they are completely ignored or dismissed. Sometimes just listening can help others know that they are not alone! ♥️
Our lives won't always make sense or turn out the way we wanted. If there is a God, he seems millions of miles away which makes us feel even more alone. These are the days we just need to grieve....
especially after experiencing pain, disappointment, hardship, loss and heartbreak. God created humans with emotions so it's not sinful or inappropriate to feel them. Taking the time to process our feelings can actually help identify the root cause of what's creating these thoughts. When Jesus saw Mary weeping, he empathetically wept with her. He's not afraid to stay beside us through our messy and uncomfortable roller coaster ride of emotions. Jesus was fully human so he experienced our limitations within his human body, mind, will and emotions but bc he was also fully God he never sinned (Heb.4:15-16). Don't be afraid to get real with God. He absolutely loves you Even if your not a Christian!! There is no need to pretend or wear masks when your with him, it's totally ok to NOT be ok. God will always show his love, forgiveness and mercy to those who seek him. I’ve been told that I have walls up, that I won’t let anyone in. I’ve been told this by more than one person and I can’t seem to shake it. I’ve honestly come to the conclusion that these people may actually be right. I do have walls up but for a long time these walls protected me from real dangers. I think they were necessary for a time...for the lifestyle I was living, but maybe it’s time to let them go. Maybe not completely or all at once, but I’m no longer the person I was 5 years ago. My instincts are better now. I’m surrounding myself with people who don’t require walls. They won’t take too much from me because I have strong boundaries and I now know how to speak up when these boundaries are being crossed. Now that I am strong enough to defend my boundaries, the walls are less necessary and maybe even harmful.
