"There’s always going to be incoming so how do you manage your workflow. Then there’s also figuring out how to keep your cool when President Obama is in your face! It’s a crazy balancing act that you learn and it’s very different for everyone."

In just under 40 days, a NEW Miss Texas will be crowned. Where has the time gone?! I love this time of the year because prep is in FULL swing! I’ve enjoyed every part of this process; growing, understanding, loving, appreciating and building. So pumped to be alongside my girls for the best week ever 💛

With the right motivation, you will be surprised how far and deeply motivated children can be!
@earlyyearsforidps we focus on progress and continuous improvement. Building new knowledge, strengthening skill sets, and learning from diverse perspectives. .
We are proud of the progress we are seeing so far because when some of the children enrolled, they had been exposed to no form of formal education whatsoever.
We are happy to be changing the lives of these kids one day at a time!

My name is Achan Jennifer of the Wot ki gum group. I am a 63 year old widowed mother of 8 dependants. 5 of these children are in school. My business is in selling second hand clothes in a local evening market called Cuk wi Got. I heard about Kleos Uganda through a friend in another group, and I then came to the office and requested if they can come and also start a lending group in my area.⠀
We started the group in early 2018 with 13 members. My first loan was 250,000 Shillings ($90CAD) which I used to add clothing to my inventory. At that time my running capital was about 250,000 Shillings but now I have climbed to about 400,000 Shillings ($145CAD).⠀
My plan is to add produce to my business so I can grow it and support all my dependants.⠀
Kleos MFG provides equal opportunities for women around the world who are looking to improve their lives through business building support and microloans. Visit the link in our bio to donate or learn more about us.⠀

We are thankful to have had Nora interning with us over the past 3 months as part of her studies in comparative politics at @unibergen. She worked with us on the #impactchallenge2019 program, completed a report on #socialentrepreneurship in Bergen, and used her journalistic skills to help communicate our story. Tusen takk, Nora, and we wish you all the best for your upcoming adventures! #internship#socialimpact

Haaaaaave you met Julia??
Well here's your chance!
Julia was first a volunteer at the Heaven Hill Academy and after spending some time there, she joined the team as our finance wizard! 🧙🏻 Thanks to her, we're keeping everything organized and up to standard (well.. she is and we're extremely lucky to have her) 🍀😊🙏
Here's Julia's take on our Q's:
1.What type of student were you at school?
- I was definitely a bit of a nerd when it came to good performance. Luckily my friends always thought of me as a “cool” nerd though. ;)
2. Your favourite subject?
- I loved English because I always knew I wanted to travel around the world one day.
3. Your least favourite subject?
- I hated swimming class. I got traumatized when we had to swim I don’t know how many laps. At the end of class I was literally the only one left, still trying to finish my laps. Everyone else already went to shower and I was all alone. I still don’t like swimming ;)
4. What did you always have in your school bag?
- I always had my homework book with me. At some point these books always turned into diaries including lots of pictures and stuff about crushes as well as the latest gossip. I still have all of them in a box at my parents’ place. They literally document my whole teenage years.
5. Have you ever skipped school?
- No never. I was (almost) always very well behaved. Sorry, not very exciting, I know ;)
6. Your worst grade?
- A 6 (F) for being the slowest while swimming laps -> See question 3
