(Another old selfie). Saw my pcp today. I didn’t get the imaging test but she was as always, spent a lot of time with me and was thorough in explaining everything.
Although I didn’t get a imaging, she did an additional physical exam that wasn’t done at the ER, so I feel a bit more assured even though not quite out of the woods yet. The lump she explained feels more like a internal bleeding or bruise behind the abdominal wall and not a hernia. I was more concerned about getting a hernia as I don’t want to go through another surgery. I have heard the only real way to know is through a CT scan but I know all the doctors I’ve seen so far don’t want me to undergo another CT unless I am vomiting or have a fever. I feel conflicted. I will have another appointment in the end of August so I am trying to not panic and just give even more time. I am still upset though that the pain on that lump has gotten worse instead of better. And with that reason alone, I am still frustrated. Some people have told me that if I’m having problems with my doctors I should switch them. And my answer to that is I usually do. But things get pretty frustrating when you don’t fit the normal curve of what is expected in most patients. There is a medical adage that goes “when you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras”. Basically assume that is most common and don’t jump the gun to thins like rare disease and conditions rarely seen in the general population. I think it is because of this that often I have to switch around a few specialists before someone has an inkling on what might help. I’ve been through chronic health problems and pain for over half my life and some conditions, there just isn’t much research so you are kind of left managing your condition and living with it rather than complete remission. I would like to put some of my conditions in remission but so far a lot of the frustrations is that often I can’t figure out what’s wrong until it becomes pretty bad. #selfie#selca#ladeliciadelinda#blog#spoonielife#rant#chronicpain#chronicillness#frustration#asianselfie#naturalmakeup#naturalbeauty#healthrant
