🍦+ 🎈+ 📸 = DIY ICE CREAM CONE PHOTO BACKDROP TUTORIAL
The moment I saw one of these on Pinterest I knew I had to make one for my “Ice Cream Social Media Event” this past weekend, & it was actually super easy!
I decided to wing it based off the pic I saw, so here are the steps I took...
1️⃣ Decide on a color scheme for the balloons. 🎈I went with a pink ombré look after finding a multi-color pack of 15 from Target for $1.99!
2️⃣ Choose your “cone” materials/colors. I went with tan-colored poster board from Hobby Lobby ($3.58 for 2 pieces with the 40% off coupon 😉) & used some mint-colored washi-tape I had at the house for the “waffle cone” details (originally $2.99).
3️⃣ Pick out your “extra” details! A red balloon would have more than sufficed for the 🍒 on top, but to add some texture & variation, I went with a tissue paper honeycomb from Wal-mart ($1.79) & finished the whole look off with the mint “hooray” sign ($3 from Target’s Bullseye Spot).
4️⃣ Play around with the proportions of the balloons & the space you want to cover. 📏 9 balloons was plenty to create a roughly 4 ft. x 3ft. ice cream cone.
5️⃣ Attach to the wall! Regular masking tape worked well on everything & didn’t peel off any paint. 👍🏻 I used about a 2-inch strip on the tail of each balloon to apply individually & directly to the wall & then made double sided pieces to use in between the balloons for extra support!
That’s it! ✨ For $6-$15 you can create a statement backdrop in about 30 minutes! 👊🏻
