“Things will happen in their own time.”
3rd year into my Kinesiology degree at YorkU, I decided it wasn’t meant for me. I decided to take time off and work. I then decided to study Psychology but this meant, transferring to @ryerson_u and only being able to transfer some of my credits, a.k.a. starting from the bottom. In the midst of this degree, I faced several hurdles such as getting married right in exam season and taking a year off, and so many other random situations lol. What I’m trying to say is, everything happens at its own pace. I’m 28 and I’ve just graduated with my Psychology degree. I was that person who was afraid of not being able to graduate with my friends or the idea of “on time.” Life is about trade-offs. You’re constantly put in positions that ask you to choose between options. I chose to take time off and get married, and now, I am happily married to someone who supported this journey and took me to all of my classes so I wouldn’t take the subway late night. Only you can say what’s best for you, even (or especially) when that choice goes against the grain.
If you live your whole life comparing yourself to others, you will never be truly happy. Everyone has their own path, their own problems, and their own destination. Your experience in life is different from anyone else. Try not to let society dictate when the right time is for your goals. School, marriage, and any other milestone will happen when you, the individual, is ready. Don’t ever let someone tell you it’s too late to follow your dreams. Even if that person is YOU.

“The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you.” •B.B. King
Excuse my language but... YA GIRL FUCKING DID ITTTTT!! Been a long time coming fr. Through allll the tears, laughs and more tears, this feeling is definitely worth all of it. No one can imagine what I went through to get here... maybe @sanabharucha might 🤣 (remember that video of you crying an hour before the exam) those looooong days and late nights trying to figure out if the teacher was speaking English in managerial finance or we just stupid. Skipping classes for ONE damn finance class that made me really want to say fuck school. To my last class making or breaking me, having to get a 70% in the class to pass but ofc came out with a 98%🤪. I thank everyone who seen me cry and told me to push through. I could probably go on and on but naaaa... I DID ITTTTTTTT, I’m so grateful for it all 🎓
Museum Event #1 today @6.30pm at #artgalleryofontario ... thanks to

Wednesdays are better with alumni involved! Everyone, meet Leigh!👩🏻🎓
Hello! My name is Leigh, and I am a Registered Dietitian (RD) in Toronto, and proud Ryerson Alumna. To become an RD, I first completed a degree in Applied Science in Food and Nutrition at Ryerson University. Since I loved Ryerson so much, upon graduation, I returned to this school to pursue a Master of Health Science in Nutrition Communication (MHSc). This amazing program involved an intensive dietetic internship to meet the competencies required for eligibility to write the Canadian Dietetic Registration Examination, to receive my license to practice dietetics in Canada. .
Once receiving my license and completing my MHSc, I started seeing clients privately through my own business, as well as at an athletic facility, CrossFit 6S, in downtown Toronto. I was also fortunate enough to take on a position as a Clinical Dietitian at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto. Let's say things have been pretty busy since completing school!
In terms of my private practice in Toronto, I work with individuals and couples to meet their health and fitness goals through personalized nutrition and lifestyle planning. I specialize in nutrition for sport and exercise performance, digestive health, sustainable weight loss, and optimal wellness. .
My goals for the future include continuing to build up my private practice and experience in dietetics. I love writing and would like to continue to gain more experience in writing for various publications. In addition, I would love to facilitate more group nutrition workshops with a focus on sport nutrition, wellness and fitness. I am excited to see what the future holds and I am always grateful for choosing this dynamic and exciting career!
Please see my website (link in bio) for more information on myself and my services, and to check out my blog where I regularly publish evidence-based articles on the latest trends in health and nutrition!
Polimoda, Italy's top institute for fashion design, management, business and art direction. Located right in Florence, it embodies exactly what you'd imagine if someone said "Tuscan school" 🏛️🎭👨🎨.... now, don't get me wrong, I'm a proud #Ryerson student, but how can you top this architecture, design, and industry expertise?!? 😭🇮🇹
This semester is almost done. And this is the first project I've completed.
Treatment enabled me to work hard on this collage, and soon the artist statement will follow.
My values, my beliefs and my perspectives are on this board. My mind and my time. Yesterday it hit me how far behind I really am. I'm facing an incomplete for the course that this collage is due, and my anxiety is riding high.
My fear is through the roof, but yet here I am. I finished it and I'm making my way forward. I'm stepping up and taking a chance on myself. It's ok to struggle. But it's also ok to ask for help. It's a slow process, but you've gotta trust it. #onedayatatime#recovery#edrecovery#values#collage#university#ryerson#ryersonuniversity#workinghard#keepmovingforward#icandoit
