RIP RUTGER HAUER: Legendary Blade Runner Actor .- 1944-2019
The man who played one of the most complex Villains in Cinema History !
One of His best and wonderful Blade Runner speech and his last smile : “Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.” #rutgerhauer#bladerunner ...........................................

“Blade Runner” (1982)

Best Aspects of the Film:
I) Standout performances from Ford, Hauer and Young
II) Stunning cinematography and immersive setting
III) A genre redefining film that offers deeper emotional substance and questions to ponder
What are your thoughts on Ridley Scott’s sci do classic? How does it compare to it’s recent sequel? Let me know in the comments!
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die."
...One of the greatest moment in sci-fi history. Rest well, Rutger Hauer🙏😔
I was thinking about Rutger Hauer today. I’ve been marveling (in a weird flu-induced stupor) how remarkable it is that in this day and age - I have the opportunity to communicate (and occasionally collaborate) with my hero’s - but sadly I never had the chance to meet Mr. Hauer. ...He was absolutely one of a kind - and his performances transcended genre - he was bigger than any role. #Ladyhawke ... amazing! Escape From Sobibor ... amazing ... @annericeauthor (he was her choice to play the #Vampire#Lestat ... that would have been AMAZING!) - I just generally enjoyed him as an actor. Even little things like the grizzled #Viking in the first episode of #Netflix’s @thelastkingdom. But for me - his best performance (maybe ANYONE’S best performance) was his death scene in #BladeRunner ... it still gives me chills! This image is my #drawing based on the #marvel#comicbook adaptation of the film. He will be missed! ...
BLADE RUNNER MONTH FACT: DAY 17
When Gaff approaches Rick Deckard during the beginning of “Blade Runner,” Gaff uses a language referred to as “cityspeak” in the film. In reality, the actor playing Gaff, Edward James Olmos, was primarily speaking Hungarian with a words from other languages mixed in. His lines to Deckard translate to “Sir, follow me immediately please,” followed by a creative expletive as he calls Deckard out as a former Blade Runner.

Ridley Scott’s ‘Blade Runner’ (originally released in 1982), is not only just one of my favorite movies, but it is one of the most beautiful and unforgettable movies of the 1980s and of all time.
The adaption of Philip K. Dick’s seminal sci-fi classic ‘Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?’ uses different elements of film noir, mystery, thriller and action/adventure to guide the audience into a dark vision of the future. A world which most of the rich people have left, real animals are nearly eradicated and so called ‘Replicants’, man-made androids, which are superior in strength and agility were used off-world as slave labor.
In this scenario the audience accompanies the Blade Runner Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) through the multicultural, overcrowded and rainy streets of Los Angeles on his mission to send illegal replicants to “retirement”.
What is humanity? And what makes humans human?
These are the central questions of ‘Blade Runner’, which finally everyone must answer for himself.
I hope you liked my first little review/recommendation. Blade Runner is one of my favorite movies of all time. I’m happy, that this brilliant movie is my first post. Especially now in November 2019, were the story of Blade Runner takes place.
Last but not least, I really recommend the Final Cut Version. In my opinion this is the perfect Blade Runner experience.
