I ran up Sugar Hill today and enjoyed one of my fave trails when I visit my family. 554 ft total elevation gain and hills for days.
If you want to get you eye knocked out
If you want to get your fill
If you want to get your head cut off
Just go to sugar hill

Last day at home. Woke up early to meet up with my best friend from school to have breakfast with him and his family.
Afterwards, I made it out for a 30 min run while it sprinkled. Enjoyed the mild southern temps for all my runs and hope I miss the snow before I get back to PA tonight.
So grateful for this time with my family. I don't see them enough and while I haven't lived in this neck of the woods for almost 17 years, this will always be home.
Running my parents' little country road. A nice stretch of the legs after sitting for so long during travel.
Finished with a @toneitup stretching routine as I've been pretty sore lately in my hip, hamstring and trunk. Thankful for an app to keep up with workouts while I'm in the middle of no where.
// I RAN! I RAN, I RAN, I RAN! 🥳 watched my heart rate and kept it mellow, when it spiked I could feel my jaw throbbing and I just slowed it down to walk but I got 2.21 miles (extra because I didn’t notice my Garmin beep 🙄) honestly, too excited to care. Next up, 5K tomorrow and half on Sunday 🤪 #asthmaticrunner#marathontraining
Jogalope! Wednesday 6:30pm at Ma’Kai Cafe 1210 Wedgewood. (They have extended hours so they will be open late for Jogalope! And yes, they do have post-run cold beers!) Route Maps available on Strava. #jogging#RunSlow
Today was a good day of vacation. The kind of day where I literally just sat around, took my time and got just a few things done while mostly enjoying being lazy and recovering from yesterday's race. I ended the day with a great BJJ class.
Thinking back to yesterday, I was excited someone was taking pictures. When I saw this one, I immediately noticed how strong I looked and not the cellulite on my thigh because yeah, I have hips.
No picture is 100 percent and while we try to perfect our image as much as we can, most of us have imperfectly perfect bodies. I'm a work in progress but I'm always grateful for what my body can do for me with consistent work.
I have goals but I'm going to love the body I have every step of the way.

// happy #medalmonday and omg is it a blingy one! 😍 Swipe to see the swag- my favorite is the challenge because the shark is a freaking slider?!?! & they are all giant. Took it slow, which was nice. Got to listen to the whole new Eminem album, text my friends back, check my email and actually enjoy the course. Having a fair amount of pain on my right side and still can’t really open my mouth too far so hoping to get in touch with my oral surgeon today and get another check up just to make sure I’m still good. Overall, had a great weekend at the @sharkbitehalfmarathon#asthmaticweekend#marathontraining#sharkbitehalf

I sent my kiddo off to college this weekend, and it was SO hard 😩! But, I know he’s got such a great future ahead and is going to have such amazing adventures in his life!! ————————————————————————
I’ve had some of you reach out and ask me how I could have such an old kiddo- well, I had him when I was 22 (I was on the fast track to motherhood 😂)and will send my youngest off to college in 2 more years. This means I’ll be 42 with kids out of the house!! You know what this means? It means, I ALSO have new adventures awaiting me. This quote applies to me too! And, you better bet there’s going to be a lot of running goals crushed and running trips coming up!! ————————————————————————
Ran with @my.runstagram.life this morning and chatted away the miles! Great way to start the week!!

8.5 miles @ 8:14 pace
Ever wake up and feel like you were hit by a truck in the night? Well, that’s how I felt this morning. I was SO tired! But, I didn’t really have any other options to run this later today or even tomorrow, too many things going on. So, I put on my big girl pants (literally because of all of the fudge eating lately 😂) and just went for it! Here’s what I got done:
⬆️2 mile warm up @ 9:14 pace
➡️7 x 3 min @ 6:35 pace
➡️2 min jog recoveries for the first 3 and then 2 min walk recoveries for the last 3 (had to get my breathing to slow)
⬇️2.63 mile cool down @ 9:11 pace
It was hotter than I had anticipated and my legs felt like jello, but I’m SO glad I got it done! Now off to a day of work meetings. Have a great day everyone!
This felt better than an ice bath! After my 6.5 mile easy treadmill run, I had a huge desire to play in the snow. Of course my husband thought I was nuts, but he should know me well enough by now to not be surprised 😂. •
I’m spending the rest of the day prepping for the big Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow!! And, 🤞🏻 that my college kiddo makes it home tonight! The snow moved his direction now, so I’m really hoping his flight doesn’t get canceled. •
Hope you all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving Eve!

Had SO much fun with @goodrunning26.2 and @whitney_wil_run running along the Boulder Creek Path this morning. •
We had a few run ins with a construction worker holding up a slow sign, bikers trying to get by, and a homeless guy yelling incoherent stuff at us, but we just laughed and kept running. •
It’s so fun to start the day with meeting new friends, climbing up the canyon, taking pics, laughing at all sorts of stories, and then getting home and starting the work day. •
I’m sure my teachers appreciated it too, because I was in a much better mood while dealing with all sorts of situations today 😂.

It could have been easy. To be disappointed, to be angry, to be discouraged and upset. The conditions weren’t perfect, as they never are on race day or any important training day; I slept late, I had no music, and the weather was 10 degrees warmer than I was used to. It could have been easy to stop, which I almost did, twice. It could have been easy to dig myself a very deep, dark, negative self-talking hole in my mind. But I didn’t. Nor was I angry or disappointed. This was my last big mileage training day, my last chance to really make this training bigger and badder than all the others so that I could prove to myself that I am capable of a 30 minute PR. As I ran slash walked parentheses mostly walked, I thought to myself, “there is nothing I can do at this point to change the outcome of today and all that anxiety and angry won’t make it better either. Let’s just do what we can and keep moving.” So I did. I kept going even though it was hard and, what felt like, pointless. In the end, though, it wasn’t pointless, I had found peace and understanding in deciding this wasn’t going to be a good running day and despite the ever approaching race day, I am capable, I just have to keep showing up. All this to say, not every day will be your day, not ever run will be yours for the taking, not ever race will be a PR, but the fact that you did it anyway makes you stronger and braver, and packs a whole lotta grit. Be kind to yourself, be grateful for the incredibly powerful body you have and keep showing up!! .
// this week has been a mess. Issues Monday & Tuesday left me skipping my run & cross training. Got in 5 miles last night at run club but the cold air wasn’t kind. Had 5 for this morning but I had a pretty bad asthma attack at mile 3 so I just power walked the last one and when it didn’t get better I stopped at 4. Today I am getting my wisdom teeth out so I don’t know how long it will be until I can run again. Marathon training is hard and sometimes it really feels like I am not doing enough to get me across that finish line. Keep telling myself that 9 miles this week is better than no miles this week and I can only do what I can. Sigh. Now it’s time for a nebulizer treatment 🤷♀️ #asthmaticrunner#marathontraining
The ASICS Gel Nimbus Lite is an extension to the runner favorite Nimbus line, and is lighter, softer, and bouncier than the traditional Nimbus. This was achieved through the use of a new Flytefoam midsole compound, a softer outsole rubber, and the removal of the plastic trusstic in the midfoot.
Nearly the entire upper of the GEL-NIMBUS™ LITE is made with recycled material. The FLYTEFOAM™ midsole technology incorporates Cellulose Nanofiber, which is a sustainable material that also increases the durability of the foam.
Available now for pre-order at Fit2Run.com and in stores early February!

// first race of 2020!😎ran with my boyfriend- who doesn’t do races- so he could make sure I took it slow and steady post wisdom teeth. AFTERWARDS he was like hey, look, my heart rate got to 202 😳🤦♀️ boys.....🙄 still feeling pain in my jaw but I guess that’s to be expected. Taking it even slower tomorrow for the half. Happy Saturday instafriends! #asthmaticrunner#marathontraining#feedingfrenzy5K#newsmyrnabeach
If the weather can stay like it is right now until Shamrock I would be perfectly okay with it! 6 miles done in this perfect running weather. And not to mention my first two miles I took a bit easier then it was all negative splits the last 4 miles!

Runnin' in the 90's is a new way I like to be
I'm just runnin' in the 90's
Come on, baby, run to me
We are runnin' in the 90's, it's a new way to set me free
I'm just runnin' in the 90's
Yes, I wanna know, yes, I wanna see...
Guess the song?
Of all #running, nothing can beat the days when nature around you shows its best face. It's #LikeRunning in a fairy tale. Today's #LongRun was easier than ever thanks to the supporting nature with its fancy colors and sound

1st race of 2020, check. 60 degrees meant shorts and I did all the wrong things to prepare.
I drank last night at my work party, then forgot to hydrate. I almost skipped this race but knew I would be better for it even if I couldn't give 100 percent today.
Happy to keep it sub-30 since I haven't really been training with any focus yet. That's why I like the series because I'll use it to keep gauging my progress and fitness.
Goodness’ sake that was a run. First long run since succumbing to the Black Plague (read, flu) over Christmas. I beat the flu but was dealing with a respiratory funk and didn’t run for two weeks. I’ve been panicking a bit over missing long runs and being ready to run #26.2 in the @snickers_marathon . Everything’s fine, right? I also got a fancy pants new #applewatch from @cirqueduschleiger that gives a reading of my heart rate. Last long run my heart rate terrified me. WAAAY too high. I’ve decided to stop chasing a time and just focus on distance and a healthy heart rate. Today was hot, humid, and hilly, but I felt good at a slower pace. Forgot to snap a mid run photo so here’s one after showering and me working on ‘rehydrating’ with a lil recovery beverage. @GABF silver medal winning #FloridaSunshineLager from @crookedcan Go for a run today my friends! Love to y’all from Montverde, FL

Well this was a first for me on my run...I saw a Bear on the trail. Luckily it was a decent distance away and up in a tree. Then as I was getting ready to leave I saw 3 deer. Needless to say I’m just glad I got my 8 miles in!!

Ran 12 “easy does it, while my glutes and hammies screamed” pace. That mountain climbing yesterday was no joke 🤪. I got to run 9 with @my.runstagram.life and 3 solo, as she sped off to get some faster ones done. I was SO happy to not have to pick it up 😂. It was hot out there, but we got the miles done 👍.
I was looking back at my previous posts and realized that yesterday was my 2 year IG anniversary! It made me stop and reflect about how far I’ve come! I think a lot of my progress over the past 2 years has come from connecting with all of you. It’s made me accountable, knowing others would see what I accomplished. It’s made me more aware of strategies I hadn’t tried before. It’s made me more excited to go out there and crush races! It’s also allowed me to meet many of you in person and form friendships! It’s been a really positive experience overall. I’m so glad I’ve been able to improve in my running fitness and to get to know all of you a long the way! Thanks for sharing this journey with me! 💜
Also, paired my new @senita elevate shorts with my @baklinerunning tank- love these companies!
Great 3 mile run on another beautiful January afternoon! Followed by a yummy taco salad and some good ‘ol hockey talk! It’s been a good afternoon!!

First run in my new sneakers, so 6 miles done! And it felt great! So thankful for the birthday and Christmas money I received. Plus the fact my parents by sneakers at fleet feet and put it on my account which gave me $30 off my sneakers.
What a beautiful night to run. I kept wanting to stop to take pictures of all the gorgeous stages of the sunset, but reminded myself that not everything needs a picture and to take it in and live in this moment. It’s hard to do these days, to be present and aware of all the amazing, yet simple, things we are blessed with each day. I challenge you to stop scrolling for a minute, look around, and appreciate 5 things. Here’s mine: a furry buddy to talk to, a warm meal on the table, a refreshing shower, clean clothes, a clear night to star gaze 🤩 .
9.68mi with 3 hard miles in the mix. Is it just me or is it REALLY difficult to leave your distance at a strange number like .68!?!? I physically felt good, mentally it was a little tough, but the weather was GREAT! Goodnight everyone 🛌 .
The mammy told me he had no hope. Glad shes not on twitter
