Marathons are tough. You train for months and yet the marathon owes you nothing. They don’t always go to plan. They test your mind and body to their limits.
That’s why I love them so much. I can’t wait to be back at the @londonmarathon next year.
The plan is to work hard putting all of the foundations in place over the Winter before the marathon specific work starts next year. Who else is planning their assault on the marathon?

Another blue bird day in Mammoth & 8 miles that took my breath away - literally. .
I always hate leaving this place, but always so grateful we only live a 5 hour drive away. We definitely couldn’t afford a weekend getaway, but honestly, right now, I’m not really concerned about how “financially stable” we are, because that means NOTHING if you are not happy or creating rich memories. Not everyone agrees with me on this & that’s okay! I’d rather spend the last dollar in my piggy bank doing something fun than saving it. .
Happy Veterans Day!! .
Last #medalmonday of the year for me. I present to you my 2019.
I don’t recommend running four marathons a year. I don’t really even recommend running two in a season. It’s fairly hard on your body, even to an experienced marathoner. I made a lot of sacrifices to make this happen. Instead of going for PRs, I mostly had to go for completion. Instead of running my best, I had to take into account the fact that I’d have a huge lapse of recovery going into some of these races. But I can be proud of the fact that I got them done and dusted. I can be happy that I can display these medals with pride. I can look back on this one day and say “remember that nutty thing I did???”
@wmmajors, I’m coming for your shiny medal. See you in April.
But this was the plan all along.
When I graduated from college I had the greatest opportunity to work for the best wellness center in Knoxville. I was getting certified in anything and everything I could. .
After 2 years I left Knoxville to return home, out of state. No certifications accepted.
On one hand I felt like I left a life I had built; on a gut decision.
On the other, I finally had more than a 24 hour visit with my family.
But people had built lives in the 6 years I was gone at school or in TN.
So when I got home; jobless, with no income and bills to pay, friends that were busy, and a reevaluation of my future...I turned to running. .
Running was “mine”.
& when a freelance writing position required 2 blog post examples, I started writing about the one thing that was saving my life.
That’s how I got here. .
That’s how the Global Manager of Reebok found my blog 3 years ago.
That’s how I got my first Boston qualifier.
& that’s how I continue to trust my “gut decisions”.
So life happens.
& if I could tell you one thing it’s this:
No matter what happens, no matter where you are in life, you are in the palms of the greatest hands. .
Because this was the plan all along.
Jippijeijey! Finally back 😍
