Jim Morrison in a hotel closet at the Chateau Marmont in 1968. Photo by Art Kane.
Jim Morrison hit it off with Kane and spent the shoot discussing culture, literature and current events. Kane photographed Jim & @thedoors for Life Magazine’s ‘New Rock’ photo essay. He had an electrician move the television in to the closet, and asked Morrison to kneel behind it and change channels. Slide left for other photographs from this photo session. I think the last one is my favorite.
Happy 80th Birthday to game show host Bob Eubanks (1938- ) 💖💖💖. He is best known for hosting the long running show, “The Newlywed Game”. He can also be seen on the Game Show Network and occasionally on BUZZR hosting the late 1980s version of “Card Sharks”. I have always liked him..seems like a nice guy. He was married from 1969 until the death of his wife in 2002 and the couple had 3 children. He has since remarried and has another younger child by his current marriage. May he have a happy, healthy 80th Birthday 💖💖💖 #bobeubanks#happybirthday#80#80yearsyoung#classicgameshow#vintagegameshow#thenewlywedgame#cardsharks#classichost#vintagehost

It’s finally Friday! And my kids’ last day of school (finally)!! Time to party, people! Throwback to Blakely and Stefan’s barn wedding from two weeks ago. The DJ brought out bride and groom barbies for the newlywed game. Genius!

“Love grows best in little houses like this”
Did anyone else catch Hobby Lobby’s huge clearance sale this week?? I snagged this cute little sign for $4.99!!!
On another note, hooray hooray for Friday! My hubby and I are going to a friends house for a kids free couples game night. We’ve been practicing our answers for the newlywed game. 😎 He didn’t remember our first kiss!!! I guess it’s a good thing I refreshed his memory 😂
Hope y’all have a great weekend!! Just for fun, share something funny or interesting about your spouse in the comments! Have you ever played the newlywed game??

TV game shows weren’t always talent competitions and a cast of survivors in their birthday suits in the jungle. In the 60’s and 70’s, smooth talking hosts and relatable contestants served up wholesome entertainment in the form of classic game shows. One such smooth talking host, Bob Eubanks, graduated from Pasadena High School in 1955. Bob went on to record 2,195 episodes of The Newlywed Game, making him one of the most viewed game show hosts to date and giving him just enough air time to coin “making whoopee” as a catchphrase for the show.
Bob’s other accomplishments included his disc jockey skills and being credited for bringing the Beatles to Los Angeles for their first West Coast performances. If all that weren’t enough, Bob Eubanks hosted the Emmy Award winning Tournament of Roses Parade on KTLA for 38 years, only recently stepping down in 2017. Our hats off to Bob for entertaining us through the decades!
