“Reading is dreaming with open eyes” ✨
You don’t want to know how long it took us to take this photo...😳💛 The original plan was that I would be two times in it.. but I was tall😂 But isn’t my little sister doing a wonderful job ..?💛 I kinda love how it turned out! And I can’t wait until she’ll read the same books as I do nowadays! Well Harry Potter is a good start! Do you have any relatives who read too..? Wishing you a wonderful evening 🍂💛

#QOTD Do you like classic books? If so, which one is your favorite? Also, have you watched Anne with an E on Netflix? 🍂
I’ve listened to Anne of Green Gables on @scribd this month and I LOVED IT! ♥️ When I was young, I watched the cartoon that was based on the book but as I grew older I kinda forgot all about it and then Netflix released Anne with an E and I knew I had to read the book and you guys .. I think it’s actually better than the tv show! Netflix changed a couple of things and tbh I like when adaptations stick to the book especially when it’s a tv series so it’s possible to do so

“Reading is that fruitful miracle of a communication in the midst of solitude” - Marcel Proust. And we can’t help ourselves, but we’re looking forward to solitary fall reading sessions complete with a roaring fire, crisp air, and something decadent fresh from the oven. We’re also inviting Proust and Frost to host the hot beverages. 😉Scroll to see our latest fall goodies and leave a comment letting us know which is your favorite. We’ll select someone at random this Friday to receive a complimentary mug.

Franz Kafka - Letters to Felice. “Once again I have told you so little, and have asked no questions, and once again I must close. But not a single answer and, even more certainly, not a single question shall be lost. There exists some kind of sorcery by which two people, without seeing each other, without talking to each other, can at least discover the greater part about each other’s past, literally in a flash, without having to tell each other all and everything; but this, after all, is almost an instrument of Black Magic (without seeming to be) which, although never without reward, one would certainly never resort to with impunity. Therefore I won’t say it, unless you guess it first. It is terribly short, like all magic formulas. Farewell, and let me reinforce this greeting by lingering over your hand.”
One of the great things about where I work...all of these signs, vase and flowers came from there, along with most of the decor in my house 😊
Hi! I just wanted to post an explanation for why I have been absent after my first post! I don’t feel comfortable going into to much detail, but I have been struggling with some personal issues. I am still working on myself, but I am in a much better place. I decided that I need to focus on something that has always made me happy! BOOKS!! Thanks to anyone who reads this and understands! ******************************************

I'm going through "How to Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons" for the third time -- fourth, if you count 26 years ago when my mom used it with me! Each time I have been amazed (and delighted) by how...well, easy!...it is to teach my children one of the most important skills they'll ever learn.
This time around, my four-year-old son was eager to start learning to read. We gave it a shot, but it was moving a little too fast for him. He couldn't remember all of the sounds, which made word reading quite challenging. I almost put it aside for later, but Laddie wanted to continue. Thinking flashcards might help, I did a quick search before spending hours making them myself. Sure enough, Melanie @wildlyanchored had all of the sounds and the words through lesson 40! It took quite a while to print, cut, laminate, and re-cut the cards, but it was worth it -- Laddie is remembering the sounds much better, and his ability to sound out and read words in his "sounds book" has improved dramatically. Plus, I'll have flashcards all ready to go for Scout in a few years! I'm confident about moving forward now, adjusting our pace as needed.
One book, one box of flashcards -- sometimes simple is best. Teaching a child to read is a wondrous privilege!
