@MikeBloomberg thinking it would have been great if you had funded @SenKamalaHarris AND @CoryBooker AND
All 3 shone during congressional hearings, confirmations. Not too late to do the right thing.
Got to meet Mayor @pete.buttigieg in person! First presidential candidate to visit Maine. On a personal level it's incredibly inspiring to witness a viable candidate for the highest office in the land who happens to be someone who is openly gay and married. And that being the least interesting thing about him no less. It's nice for my husband and I to see that and for countless kids to see what's possible when you live your truth. Mayor Pete has a way about him that connects to people on a human level. He is able to translate progressive values into everyday speak. Pete presents authentic leadership with a strong sense of integrity and life experiences that ground him in reality. That is needed now more than ever. We are blessed with a lot of great candidates, and honestly I'm still deciding who I'll be supporting, but no matter what happens this cycle, Mayor Pete will have a role to play in the near future. I've seen the positive impact of electing a new generation of leaders in Maine and can only hope it's amplified on the national level. Thank you Mayor Pete and @chasten.buttigieg for running and putting yourselves out there!
South Bend, Indiana Mayor @pete.buttigieg waits to take the stage and speak to a crowd of 700 at Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa on Saturday, October 12th.
While taking questions from the crowd, he was asked how he would handle debating President Donald Trump. His reply: “We know what he’s going to do, and it just doesn’t get to me. Look, I can deal with bullies. I’m gay and I grew up in Indiana. I’ll be fine.” #iowa#petebuttigieg#2020#politics#campaign#mayorpete#presidentialcampaign#presidentialcampaign2020
