With UK Prime Minister Theresa May [CMEC Lunch Gala, London, 07/15/19] 👇🏻 Captions from her speech — one of the last she gives as Prime Minister before stepping down next week.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
𝐎𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐬𝐫𝐚𝐞𝐥:
“The UK position remains very clear: it’s only through achieving a long-term political solution that we can bring enduring peace and stability.
“A safe and secure Israel, living alongside a viable and sovereign Palestinian state, based on 1967 borders with agreed land swaps, with Jerusalem as the shared capital of both states, and a just, fair, agreed, and realistic settlement for refugees. A credible peace plan must achieve these objectives.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
𝐎𝐧 𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐒, 𝐒𝐲𝐫𝐢𝐚, 𝐈𝐫𝐚𝐪:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“The aftershocks of the political upheaval in 2010 and 2011, the emergence of Daesh, and the ongoing conflict in Syria, have changed the face of the Middle East.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“As a leading military and security power with strong ties to the region, we’ve played a major role in the international coalition to defeat Daesh. From recently controlling a third of Iraq and Syria, an area the size of the UK, Daesh has now lost its final piece of territory.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“But the fact that the physical caliphate has been destroyed, does not mean the ideology that underpinned it, or the men who fought for it, have simply disappeared. We must guard against its re-emergence.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Stay safe!! And remember that getting help and knowing you’re healthy is more important than the stigma surrounding all STDs, especially AIDS. Get tested periodically.

MEET NEW YOUTH4EUROPE’s LEADERS
Ana, from the UK, is a student and has a huge passion for Erasmus programme. She will be a #leader during the youth exchange on EU #education and #job policies, next September 7-17 in Hungary.
COME TO MEET HER >> https://bit.ly/2IqJaYL “I was born and raised in Portugal, but now I live in the UK, in Birmingham. I used to work for a university in Birmingham, working with students, promoting Erasmus+. 3 years ago I did my Erasmus internship, I worked for a recruitment agency in Spain for 1 year and I think, because I had the best time of my life during the Erasmus year, I think this gave me the passion to tell everyone about my experience, and I want everyone to experience the same things” she says.
Why did she decide to become a Youth4Europe’s leader? “I like the area in which I’m working, but I also like for example coaching, things related to self-development, so I want to find a way to bring the 2 together and also I want to become a freelance trainer, like a facilitator”. What kind of leader she will be? “I can say I am that kind of leader that at the beginning will encourage participants to get to know each other and build the team, and then I just take a step back. I want to make them independent and will accept their decisions, even if I don’t agree with them”.
