Today on the Hello Awesome Podcast, I dropped an episode about gossip. Because we don't talk about it enough, even though most of us have enough to talk about...
I won't sit here and act like I've never gossiped but that's why God dealt with me. Before I open my mouth about someone to another person, I need to stop and ask myself this ONE thing that can change the game:
Have I prayed for her?
"You know instead of talking about her, you could be praying for her" needs to be our motto!! It's easy to love people who agree with everything you do or let you live without friction but that's not real life. We are going to meet people who don't get us, have different vibes then us and maybe even annoy us to our core.
But God loves them too and we're called to follow through the same way. Love doesn't mean we will see eye to eye but it does mean being kind. Giving grace. Being truthful. Even if they aren't to us.

Hi, how ya’ll doing out there? I know nearly everyone is sludging their way through finals right now, and my class is about to take the most stress inducing exam thus far, this Thursday. So I thought I’d share something I do that gets me through the “finals slump.”
I like to make a list of everything I’m going to do when I’m out of the woods. For me, this list includes making myself an extravagant meal while sipping on my favorite cab 🍷, spinning more frequently, and spending time with my family back home for the holidays. Seeing this list reminds me that the endless hours at my computer for a few days are, well, temporary.
What’s on your post finals list/what are you looking forward to this holiday season? ❄️
My little baby podcast turns one year old tomorrow, & I have WORDS:
The biggest thing I can’t stop praising the Lord with is the beauty of humble beginnings.
When we launched the show I had less than 2k Instagram followers & no downloads to speak of. Prospective guests would ask for a media kit & promptly say “sorry, we’re going to pass.” It was hard, disheartening, & a little “um, wth God I thought this was your idea!?”
At some point things started to ramp up, & in all honestly - @jeanettetapley & I can’t figure out why. We didn’t get a leg up with a big name. No one gave us some massive shout out that skyrocketed the show. The numbers make NO sense, & I think that’s how God likes it.
↠ “Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
So I encourage you to stop downing humble beginnings. Don’t give up before you start just because the odds seem stacked against you. When you do, you MISS it.
You miss getting to be a part of God showing off, flexing His unending goodness & sovereignty. From a sister right in the middle of it, there’s not much like this feeling.
Choose obedience even when it doesn’t make sense. Work hard but trust Him to do the heavy lifting. & watch Him show off. Now let’s celebrate 🎉

Are you the wishing type? Do you blow dandelion puffs? Toss coins into fountains? When I was younger I wished for a horse and a few years later - my parents moved to a farmlet where I ended up owing 4 horses (including two foals) over several years. [How blessed was I!!!} Now prayer, focus and hard work are my go-to strategies to ensure my dreams (and wishes) become my reality. What wishes are you working toward, friend?

GREAT NEWS!!! We are going LIVE with Niki Olsen @mbbniki on Monday. She is coming on to answer YOUR questions about Parenting Kids with ADHD.
I learned so much from her on our podcast this week. One thing I loved the most is how her tips even apply to children and adults WITHOUT ADHD. 💗
So if you have questions for Niki, please put them in the comments or message me!! Make sure you tag a friend that you think would benefit from this as well. 📬
On Monday morning we will have more detail for you on the LIVE event.
Hang out with us this week on the podcast while we give you the down low on what a typical day in the life looks like in Kathmandu. 🏙️ As language researchers, we split our time between fieldwork in rural Nepal and city life in Kathmandu. 🐐 But regardless of where in Nepal we are, we always start the day with one thing: ☕ C O F F E ! ☕ And our (okay fine, White's) favorite brand for the village is on the pod? Alpine Start: Instant coffee that actually tastes good. •
