We celebrate 20 years of marriage today! .
We’ve traveled the world together...we’ve gone through massive business success and failure together...we’ve been through the dangerous health trials...we’re raising 8 kids together...we’ve lived an incredible, imperfect, challenging and rewarding life so far together... and nothing has shaken our relationship
Because at the beginning we put God at the center of it. We vowed never to use the D word as part of our vocabulary. We hold each other accountable. We let wise people counsel us over the years. We have always had vision for our marriage and family...we’re careful to be around Godly people...we separately grow in our understanding of and relationship with God...
I encourage you to do the same!
I’m so thankful for the woman @courageous.mom was when I married her and even more so in who she has become 20 years later. I deeply love her.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”

It’s pumpkin szn 😂❤️❤️
Throwback to 2017 and these two pumpkins Jackson (left) and Obie (right).
So, before I drone on, I feel like I have to get something off my chest. I HATE PUMPKIN SPICE LATTES 🤪😂😬 don’t judge me!
Look, I love pumpkin, but I just hate sweet hot drinks..... 🤢 I also hate hot chocolate 😬 I know I know, it’s like Ross not liking ice cream (Friends references for life).
Annyywayy, I mostly wanted to say how this picture made me think of seasons and how you hear self help gurus all over insta talk about seasons of life. This picture feels like a lifetime ago, and also like yesterday, and yet a different season of life most definitely.
One in which we both had one baby each, different women than we were before having kids and different women than we are today with two kids each.
With each baby it feels harder to hold onto those women we once were. I went to a store solo the other day and realized for the first time in a long time I didn’t have a stroller to push or a cart with a baby in it. And I seriously didn’t know what to do with my hands LOL I felt weird and honestly a little out of place just being me.
It made me realize how intense and all consuming (in mostly the best ways) these last few seasons of motherhood have been. And I think this little shopping incident made me realize that we (hopefully I’m not alone here) need to nurture the women we are through all seasons of motherhood.
As hard and scary as it is to imagine, one day we’ll be in a season of adult children, one where we’ll be walking through stores and life solo on the daily. And while that thought makes me want to hold my onto my
babies for dear life, when I do get there, the season where I have to let them go out into the world, honestly, I just really want to confidently know what to do with my hands. 🤪
