This is your Sunday night reminder to be kind this week.
✨ Be patient
✨ Be calm in situations that need your focus
✨ Listen to understand
✨ But mostly, leave people a little better than you found them

You ever felt like the scales had fallen from your eyes and all of a sudden you could SEE things SO clearly? 👀⠀
I’ve been taking time to get quiet lately. First spending 3.5 days on lockdown in a hotel room cranking out what will be the best book I’ve ever written. 💯 And then for the last week, taking time to get still in the midst of all the chaos going on around me, to say, “Speak to my heart, Lord.” 📢⠀
I’m slowly coming out of this time with about 5 solo podcast episodes outlined (they’re so juicy I wish I could record today! 😂) and a renewed idea of what it means to be the “CEO of my life” and of my business. 💯⠀
If you’re feeling any sense of overwhelm right now, I want to encourage you to:⠀
✅ Remove distractions and get still.⠀
✅ Ask God what He needs you to know right now and don’t be mad when you get an answer you weren’t expecting. 🤷🏾♀️⠀
✅ Be vulnerable enough to ask for support/ seek wise counsel.⠀
✅ Remember that no matter what it looks like, it’s not happening TO you; it’s happening FOR you and you will better for it on the other side. ⠀
Let me know if this resonates with you at all. Always hoping my experiences - good or bad - can bless at least one. ⠀
And don’t forget my first LIVE podcast taping is going down in #Atlanta on Sunday, October 13th! Click the link in bio to grab a ticket. Can’t wait to share some of what’s on my heart with those in the building! 💖⠀

I wonder if you’d believe me, if I told you that you, as you are, with all your so-called imperfections, are beautiful and worthy.
Have you ever had a passion or personal mission burning in your heart but you were too afraid to step out and show up because you’ve withdrawn into your inadequacies thinking “who am I to be doing this?” Whew been there 😅
The core of insecurity usually falls into an issue of perspective:
• You overthink what you’re not and underestimate what you are.
• You put an unworthy amount of power over your life into the approval of people.
• You rely on other people to accept you and what you’re doing first because you haven’t yet fully accepted yourself or the calling on your heart.
• You’ll continue to see the success of others as a defect in yourself because you never believe you can step out on life like they have.
And let’s be honest, some of us have become comfortable with this. Why? Because, while it completely holds us back, it also keeps us in that “safe” place where we’ll never be seen- therefore never risking failure or criticism.
Whether it be writing a book, speaking to a crowd, switching careers, starting up an organization, relocating or even just introducing yourself to some stranger because the good Lord laid it on your heart, please know that we’re either going to be comfortable or courageous; and our one and only life on this Earth will be the outcome of that decision. Sometimes we do things afraid, and that’s a part of it.
Sometimes we want to show up as our end result. It’s truly unrealistic. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time and you will make your way. As long as you’re moving forward and investing yourself into your passion, there will be something to show of your progress.
We will make mistakes. But when you learn from your missteps and apply that wisdom to the next step of your life, that makes for a growing success. Embrace the challenge to grow from them.
Lastly, your calling is meant for you, not everyone else. Everybody may not get it, and that’s okay. They weren’t designed for this. You were. If we left the plans and purposes of our life in the hands of people, our entire life would be conformed to what people want to see instead of who God made us to be, and that’s just no way to live. Amirite? 🤷🏽♀️

What was meant to be a slight hair color change turned into a full on pumpkin spice explosion💥 and I’m not mad about it 🧡❤️💛🧡❤️💛
If you haven’t heard, our most referent episode is about the power of positivity! We talk about mindset, our struggles and ways to work towards a more positive outlook. Tune in if you haven’t yet anywhere you listen to podcasts.
Sometimes, miracles require a lot of hard work! There is no such thing as effortless living, nor is it realistic. Tap ❤️ if you agree. I once went to see a famous speaker and author. While this person talks about how “easy” it is when you’re working at your passion, the first words he uttered privately to his audience were, “You are going to have to put in the work.” I’m not saying you should come up against endless roadblocks when you love what you do for a living, but it’s not all going to be effortless either. .
You will have ups and downs. ALL of the most successful people have at times, failed, or experienced severe setbacks. Keep going no matter what! Small steps compounded daily add up. YOU are supported! Tag friends who need this. For more inspiration, follow @adoptingjoy_ 👍
