Are you having an abs-solutely lovely Saturday? Or are you needing to escape from the people in your house right now?!
I've got two really simple, really effective abdominal exercises for you today.
Think about relaxing your head into your hands to increase abdominal work and slide the bottom of your ribcage towards your hip bones.
Today is all about quality not quantity, focus on technique to really engage the muscles and you won't need to do very many at all (unless you need an excuse to hide for a little bit longer 😉)

בעצם המקום היחידי שאני לא מתרגלת בו רדיפה אחרי השלב הבא זה רק באימון פילאטיס. באימון הזה שלי אני מתרגלת למידה של הגוף שלי וזה מחייב אותי להאט, להקשיב, לדייק לפני שאני מתקדמת קדימה. זה מלמד אותי סבלנות, זה מלמד אותי להתרכז במה שיש עכשיו לפני שאני מתקדמת קדימה.
לא מזמן ראיתי הרצאה של אריק זאבי המדהים ועל איך הכישורים המנטליים שנדרשים לספורטאי עילית לנצח בתחרויות, תורמים לו בהתמודדות עם משברים בחיים. מעולם לא התחברתי כל כך למה שהוא אמר כמו ברגעים האלה. הגיעה הקורונה והכריחה אותי, רוצה או לא רוצה, להפסיק לחיות רק מתוך תכנון קדימה, ואל תבינו אותי לא נכון תכנון קדימה זה נפלא, אבל האמת היא שאין בזה שום דבר מאוזן אם זה רק קדימה.
וקבלו את הקטע -אחרי כמה ימים לא פשוטים של חוסר שינה, שהרגישו כמו נצח (שבועיים רצופים ליתר דיוק) באה איזה השלמה והאטה, והבנתי שאני יכולה לשאוב משהו לא קטן מהתרגול פילאטיס שהפך להיות ממש החיים שלי-
לחשוב בצורה חדה יותר וללמוד להתמודד עם הרגע ולעבור תהליך של השתנות לפני שאני ממשיכה הלאה.
יש בזה משהו מגניב שפעולה פיזית שאני עושה כל יום עוזרת לי להבין איך מנטלית אני הולכת להתמודד עם המשבר הזה.
אם יש משהו שאני יכולה להעביר הלאה, זה לא משנה אם זה פילאטיס, יוגה או כל דבר אחר שמתרגל לכם את שריר החיבור האמיתי לעצמכם, עם קורטוב של "שאט דאון" של העולם שבחוץ, קחו לכם את הזמן לעשות את זה. ותישארו חזקים חברים :) #pilateshasmyback

Hanging in there? Just a little message from me to all my friends on IG. Hang in there my friends, we got this and we will prevail. I know it’s scary and so much is unknown. As a business owner I am watching the numbers drop and in the back of my mind I know the worst is yet to come. But you know what? Rona is out of my hands and I cannot control the fact my studio will financially suffer a lot, my kid’s school has been canceled for about 6 weeks or that my trip to visit Korin in London will have to wait until until fall. What I can control is how I react to these unfortunate circumstances and make the best with what I have right now. Without a doubt I believe I am where I am meant to be and everything happens for a reason. I have no fricken clue what life will be like 7 days from now but I will deal with tomorrow when it comes and most likely I will survive. My studio will survive and my clients will slowly come back. It’s probably not going to be easy but with today’s struggles come new understandings and opportunities to grow. I wish I could turn back the clock 2 weeks and tell myself to stock up on toilet paper but I can’t. It is time to stop panicking and start breathing again. I am choosing to have hope and continue to find ways to be happy. So I made a random list of what made me smile yesterday ... 1. Waking up to my kids a sleep outside my bedroom door while sharing 1 sleeping bag. 2. Not having to get them ready for school (I dread the morning rush). 3. It snowed on my way to the studio. 4. I got to watch 4 amazing “at home” workouts being filmed for DPTV. 5. I got to talk to Korin @korinnolanpilates on the phone about nothing important. I told her I’m getting chubby and she told me to get off my ass and film a class. Note I WATCHED 4 classes being filmed.😂🤪😘. Ok now tell me what made you smile today.... let’s spread some positivity!!!

The internet is full of challenges right now, here's one from us to YOU. We challenge all of you to attempt side planks which will not only strengthen the obliques and shoulders but also give you a feeling of attempting something that makes your body feel good.
Breakdown of the exercises-
1. Side Bend Mermaid
2. Side Bend Twist
3. Side Plank with Passé
4. Side Plank with Leg Kicks
Things to focus on:
1. Press down firmly from the pinky side of the fingers with the supporting hand
2. Keep the body in one straight line – imagine you are sandwiched between two panes of glass
3. Press the hips up and keep them stacked one on top of the other
Benefits of Side Planks:
1. Strengthen the obliques
2. Strengthen the entire shoulder girdle
3. Variations help to mobilize the spine
