The term “Dark Triad” refers to a trio of negative personality traits—narcissism, psychopathy, and Machiavellianism—that share some common malevolent features. People with these traits tend to be callous and manipulative, willing to do or say practically anything to get their way. They have an inflated view of themselves and are shameless about self-promotion. These individuals are likely to be impulsive and may engage in dangerous behavior.
Most researchers consider psychopathy to be the “darkest” of the Dark Triad, followed by Machiavellianism—a personality trait describing someone who deceives and manipulates others to achieve their goals. (Its name is inspired by the political writings of Niccolò Machiavelli.) While many researchers consider psychopathy, narcissism and Machiavellianism three distinct traits with overlapping characteristics, others believe the commonalities suggest an underlying personality construct that hasn’t been identified yet.

It doesn't matter how many books you read because sometimes you have to live it to learn it.
ACES studies have shown that when we look a behaviour through the lense of trauma rather than institutional criminalization, real progres is made for the individual who needs HELP which in turn helps society.
Traumatic events include physical, psychological, and sexual abuse; terrorism and war; domestic violence; witnessing violence against others; and accidents and natural disasters. They can result in serious stress and detrimental consequences for survivors and their families.
Approximately 50% of the world population will experience at least one traumatic event in their lifetime.
Although the majority of individuals will be able to absorb the trauma over time, many survivors experience will be chronic. Approximately 8% of survivors will develop Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Many survivors currently living with PTSD experience symptoms that are chromic. These include: nightmares, lack of sleep, motor movement disturbances, difficulty in building positive relationships, fear, anxiety, anger, shame, aggression, suicidal behaviors, mistrust in others, and isolation.
Psychological disorders may also occur in conjunction with posttraumatic stress including depression, anxiety, and alcohol/substance abuse.

This poem means alot to me not because its the best poem i think i wrote, its like a mirror of me. It was influenced by beauty tips given by a woman named audrey. And i found it as something i could really relate with. For those who know me there were several times i thought i had no self esteem because i wasnt able to look in the mirror everyday and be like im beautiful. People who could do that well im happy for them. But personally i cannot always give my looks all that credit. I use to google how to become better at loving myself like that..based on my looks and it came to the point where i realized My personality is the one thing besides god that has made me beautiful and thats what gives me my image. I know people may say you know your pretty and beautiful and you should know that. And i do. I just think my personality is everything and my love for that gives me the most self esteem ive had in a while...💜
Have you ever looked in the mirror, literally or figuratively, and wondered who you ARE?
The thing is, so many of us define who we ARE as things we have always DONE or behaviors we constantly engage in.
People might say "I'm a procrastinator", because until this day, that's how they usually choose to do things.
Or people might say "I'm an introvert", because they usually don't speak up. "I'm funny." "I'm serious." "I'm technical." "I am so weird." All these things. All these things are STORIES. Stories we tell ourselves to keep our 'personality' alive. Personality is just a story. A story we keep on repeating to ourselves, again and again, until we mistaken it with our BEING.
We are ALWAYS re-creating ourselves. Every moment of everyday. We are who we are choosing to be. Everyday I choose to procrastinate instead of taking action, is my choice. Yet I will attribute it to 'who I am.' This is not who I am. It is who I continuously choosing to be. I always have that choice.
Some people loose a TON of weight, and they look in the mirror, and they no longer recognize who they see. Then they don't know who they ARE.
Yes the strong people will use this as a wake up call. Realizing how this is an opportunity to be WHOEVER they WANT to be, because they no longer have a 'fat' story to hold onto.
How freeing would it be to create yourself into WHOEVER you wanted to be?
If you were totally free of all past 'stories' and 'personalities', who would you make yourself to be?
We each have this choice and option each and everyday. I am not locked to my past habits or way of being. I can always make today the day where I will do something I have never done but have always wanted to be.
Today, and everyday, is the day you can be FREE.
