It’s probably not really the done thing to post something that we don’t really like on here... but #confessionsunday (I made that up 🙋🏽♀️) - I don’t like our bedroom 🤦🏽♀️. Something doesn’t feel right in there (I’m not talking about presences or anything 👻!) just how it looks. Our bedroom was one of the first rooms we moved into and it was all put together in a bit of a hurry. I didn’t really have much time to think about what I wanted in here, rushed into buying a new bed as ours was just a double and was starting to feel really small when we had both boys in bed with us. So we opted for a super king! This is a lovely bed, but it just doesn’t work in this room at all. Nothing seems to really go together. I actually wish I’d opted for a wooden upholstered French bed instead. We also need a new lampshade but I have now bought several and sent them all back. It’s a low ceiling in here with sloping ceilings either side, luckily it’s a relatively big room but could still have the potential to feel a bit dark, whereas I want it to feel light and airy but still cosy. And all the lampshades I like a far too big so this is just a spare one we had from Arthur’s bedroom.
We’re also waiting on some built in cupboards to be done by our carpenter, which will make a big difference as we’ll have somewhere to put stuff. He’s also going to be building our wardrobes in our walk in wardrobe area which leads to our en-suite. At the moment that’s all a bit of a dumping ground for things 😬. I really want to sort this room out and have been trying to make this bed work, as I feel such a wally, as it’s virtually brand new but beds aren’t so easy to send back!
Have you got a room or area in your home that doesn’t feel right?

Here’s a bit of background about us. We looked at this house back in 2015, it was a project for sure! The night of the viewing I sat drawing pictures of which walls to knock down and which rooms to move. The offer was in the next morning.
The plans were drawn up before we got the keys and the builder due to start that very day. That was the morning we find out I was pregnant!😍
The 1 year project suddenly became 8 months at a maximum and we rushed to get in! All major building work complete but not much more than a lick of paint decor wise.
3 years later and we are slowly working our way through making the house into what we want it to be and I am loving it!
Sometimes the smallest things take up room in your heart😍.. my daughter bedroom
🌷🌼🌸SPRING!🌸🌼🌷 This little nook in our master bedroom is quite possibly the most feminine area of our entire home! There are so many memories in this one spot! I love to decorate with objects that have meaning behind them. What about you? Is there a spot in your home that holds a lot of memories?
The dresser was a garage sale find over five years ago that I bought for $10! Three years ago, it was the first piece of furniture I painted and I was addicted from that moment on! The doors have always been missing but I like it for storing my cardigans because they’re always easy to see and access.
The lantern on top of the dresser was a thoughtful gift from my oldest son a few years ago that he got at Pier 1. There’s also a picture of him that he gifted me on Mother’s Day the year he graduated. The other two framed pictures are of my husband and I at a dance many years ago and my favorite picture of my oldest daughter and I!
In the background, there is an old window that I made into an antique mirror with a framed print in front of it that I thrifted this week from my favorite antique store and friend, Koko. Lastly, the wind chime hanging up is made of capiz shells and was a gift from a sweet friend from the years she lived abroad.
My room is officially fall themed and I’m so excited about it. I love all the vibes that come from this time of the year. 🧡
One of the most difficult things about moving from Michigan to Oklahoma is that the seasons change at different times. The weather is still much warmer than I want it to be.
Fall starts almost a month earlier in MI than here, so I just start celebrating with them. That way my fall is almost 3 months long! Life hacks people.

This fabulous bedroom uses warm, sunset tones and crisp white linen to create a vibrant yet relaxed feel. The ornate carved furniture and use of heavy fabrics like the bath curtain, softens the overall look.
Many people are put off by orange accent colours: what do you think?
