We going, bad days are only stepping stones for success! 🙏🙏 . . .
Be the change that you wish to see in the world.
I wholeheartedly agree with this quote. I firmly believe we can't create true change in our own lives and the lives of others until we change ourselves, especially our thinking and our mindsets. .
Here’s an example, I’ve been going for my morning ( 5am ) walks for years now but only recently did I understand/realise the kind of positive impact it was able to have in so many ppl’s lives...... I started coz I wanted some “ME TIME” and I felt early mornings are always so peaceful...Gives you a fresh start ..let’s you ponder... gives you perspective.... allows you to reflect on various things... and these early morning walks became a part of my life.
So, as cliched as it might sound, it Indeed is true, "The change in the world starts with you".
👏🏼And for all those who’ve joined my 5am CLUB #30dayschallenge , You guys ROCK 👏🏼

If only I had a penny for every piece of unsolicited advice I’ve been given over the years... 💰💰💰
it can be hard not to take offense when it feels like someone is implying there is a “quick fix” to your illness or acting like they know more about your health issue than you do
BUT holding onto anger + frustration about unsolicited advice only harms YOU in the end
it’s like the buddha quote saying that anger is like gripping a hot stone — *you* are the one who winds up with burns all over your hands 🔥
these mindset shifts have been immensely helpful in helping me to release some of the emotional charge unsolicited advice can stir up 💭
what would you add to this list?! how do you cope with this (all too common) dilemma? 📝
I’m happy to share that I’ll be performing at #Fiesta2019 on October 31st at the National Museum of Mexican Art. It will be a free event with food, drinks (must be 21+), music, performances and sexual Health services provided by @connect2care.
Costumes are encouraged and this year’s theme is #dayofthedead
Can’t wait to see you there!
November Challenge Friends: Let’s talk water intake. One-half your body weight in ounces is a guideline. So if you weigh 200 pounds - 1/2 of that weight is 100. So your goal would be 100 ounces of water a day.
. . . . .
To achieve that daily goal you could
• Drink when you’re thirsty
• Sip, don’t guzzle
• Have a glass of water(or 2)w/meals
•Try adding berries, citrus fruits, herbs, and/or ginger to your water to infuse it with natural flavor
. . . .
Hope that helps. If you want in the November challenge, send me a message and I’ll send you an invite. It’s free. If you are in already and haven’t joined the Marco Polo group yet and want to, message me also.
. . . .
If your name is Lori and you haven’t received a confirmation email, it’s because the email you signed up with was incorrect. So message me.

Yesterday I spend 95% of my day on the couch, pains in my guts, still from the night before. Usually this means I've been eating something I shouldnt be #sensitivetummyissues 🙊💩🤷♀️
So I chilled, took the day to basically do nothing, couldnt even eat until dinner time. Then this morning I woke up to Seth super sick and it got me thinking about how sick the fam has been lately, and how it hasn't really hit me at all.
I have ALWAYS been a sick person, born sick, super susceptible to every flu and cold my whole life, drinking and partying my way thru my 20s I'm sure didnt help that!! 🤦♀️ That's a story for another time!
Anyways, the point is! These small changes to diet, a solid routine, short windows of exercise, usually 6days a week, has helped me in every aspect of my life! Mentally I'm the strongest I've ever been, physically I'm so close to #beastmode 🏋️♀️ My gut issues are dissolving.
For a person that used to get sick atleast 5-6 times a year, to not be sick all the time!!! That's friggin huge!!! 🤯
Taking time for myself, those slight changes in diet and routine, and I think this is a huge one, drinking my super foods shake daily has completely, 100% changed my life. I have a serious fire burning inside!! I feel unstoppable 💪
It is best to work through your addiction and self-harming behaviours before dealing with the trauma. The Substance misuse / self harm can be life threatening for one second, it is easy enough to resort to familiar paterns when under stress. If difficulties arise during therapy without any coping skills, it may cause a lapse or relapse. The relapse prevention coping skills I provide are skills to boost your confidence in your self so you can just focus more on the theraputic process rather than just trying to cope with your addiction.

Pace! It’s so crazy to me how my fitness life matches so well with my real life. I’ve always been impatient. I’d fallen into the “busy” trend and lived my life in a hurry. I had expectations of what life should look like and fell disappointed when I couldn’t create that expectation. I did that with fitness too. I worked really hard. Wanted and strived for a certain body. And at one point I obtained it. But I still wasn’t happy. I wanted more. But just recently I’ve learned to slow down. I’ve learned to stop creating expectations. I’ve learned to just enjoy the moment. Slow down. Pace myself. Focus on today. Be grateful for the blessings I currently have. I have goals still. But I’m not impatient and obsessing over meeting them. I’m happy. I’m content. I’m less anxious. I enjoy my runs and my workouts. I enjoy doing yoga and shutting off the world. Being grateful for the moment and strengthening for the future one day at a time. Just like running, some days are easier than others. #wellnessjourney#mindful#mentalstrength#paceyourself#slowdown#enjoythejourney#minimarathon#reallife#imperfectwellness#functionaltraining#onedayatatime#blessed
