Work conference hotel bed: night two.
(Luckily for me, there was a Stewarts store across the street from the hotel, so after the sessions were over, I was able to get some ice cream to enjoy while watching consecutive episodes of American Pickers on the hotel tv.) #november14#project365#latergram

It was my Grandma’s birthday back in November. November 14th to be exact. Her and my grandpa were out at my house that day for haircuts.
If you know anything about the older generation; you know, the retired, the ones who live in “elderly” complexes you’ll know that they gain groups of friends where they meet for coffee or get together to play cards. In this particular group when it’s somebody’s birthday they ALWAYS go to Welsh Kitchen in Weyburn for coffee and sweets. My grandma requested Flapper Pie that day. They told her that their shipment didn’t come in and unfortunately they couldn’t make Flapper Pie that day. So what did I do yesterday morning before they came out to make cinnamon twists?! I made my very first Flapper Pie so that Grandma would get what she wanted. Only later did she tell me that the Welsh Kitchen did surprisingly get their shipment in that day and she ended up getting her Flapper Pie after all.
So there you have it. My very first Flapper Pie attempt and I know for certain it doesn’t even compare to Welsh Kitchen. Seriously! If you haven’t checked out that little cafe in Weyburn I suggest you run there right now and indulge. Don’t walk, RUN 🏃♀️ ———————————————————————————

Missing my sweethearts🧓👵
Its been a really hard few days and until now I haven’t been able to make a post of Grandma to truly honour her. But I feel it’s important to share a bit of who my Grandma was and what she meant to me. This is what I shared today at her funeral...
Grandma was a kind, loving, devoted, witty, strong,Determined, STUBBORN women. There is so much I already miss about her. I miss the Warmth and the smell of Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
I felt the most comfortable, relaxed and safe at the house, I spent alot of my time and my life in their house. When we would visit, Grandma was found mainly in the kitchen either baking or cooking while watching days of our lives and Y&R.
I think my Grandma had some serious super power or something, because she would often nod off to sleep in the middle of conversations and yet pick right back up in conversation. She would also often nod off while knitting, but would wake up and pick right back up and never miss a stitch, it was incredible.
If there was a sale, whether grandma needed something or not, she was there picking up the best bargains, she lived for bargains, and often walked out with bags full of stuff for herself, but also for me and others.
I was blessed and lucky to have the privilege of traveling with Grandma and Grandpa to Florida, Disney, Kentucky, Sudbury and more. All which we drove too with about 4-5 big coolers full of food grandma had packed for the trip. Wasn’t much room in the car for the rest of us, but always was room for the coolers. They had comfortable part of the ride because we certainly were not comfortable.
I had so many sleep overs, almost weekly. Late night TV with grandma because she was a night owl, while grandpa was a sleep by 9. Before bed she would get down on her knees with me at the side of the bed and we would say our prayers. She then Would tuck me in as snug as a bug in a rug and tell me that she loved me a bushel and a peck, and she loved my dirty neck, by heck.
Grandma was always supportive, compassionate, understanding. Her and Grandpa never missed a school Christmas concert, music concert, graduation and she bought something from every fundraiser I was apart of to name a few
