Favourite quote from my eBook ‘Eating for Two’ (how to eat healthily, when eating for two)
Must admit this eBook is getting a bit of a run this week. What happened 4-5 weeks ago ? Must be all those bitch’n fertility tonics going out. 🤣🤔👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 or was it Valentine’s Day that worked it’s magic ? Either way.... Eating for Two is a comprehensive e-guide with all the basics needed when you want up-the-nutritional-anti for expecting mamas!!!

When I took this photo i was in awe of my body. Not for its appearance but its capability. It endured 9 months of sickness, fatigue and pain yet it still grew a strong beautiful girl. As I stood in front the mirror still in pain I was so proud, so womanly and so beautiful.
This body grew, housed and protected a wee human and now is a squishy, jelly, sore and stretched belly.
I hope that as our children grow up they see the beauty that our bodies can hold on what they can do and not try to live up to an image that is unsustainable.

It’s time to rewrite the narrative about motherhood.
I believe mothers are absolute queens to be cared for and nurtured.
We give life
We nurture our babies in the womb
We birth our babies
We grow our babies
Nurture your body
Nurture your soul
Nurture your family
Nurture your future
Let’s raise our expectations of motherhood beyond stress and exhaustion. Beyond loneliness and isolation. Beyond what we are told it is, and make it what we want it to be. And we can have it all with EASE if we rewrite the story.
Motherhood gifts us the biggest most important reason to block out the noise of the world, finally answer for ourselves (because the answers are always already within us) the questions that hold us back and once and for all release the fears that keep us paralysed.
I’m rewriting the narrative for myself and Mama believe me when I say, you can to 👑

"Motherhood has MANY phases. I’ve learned that in my 4.5 years or so of being a mom. You’ll have the highest highs and the lowest lows. Sometimes the lows last a lot longer than highs during certain seasons. I’ve been in a low for a month or so now. I want to go back to feeling like I am rocking being a mom of three! All I see lately is someone barely staying a float. I see the bags under my eyes from a baby never sleeping. The spit up stains all over my leggings I can never seem to get out of. Milk stained nursing tanks from a baby that constantly nurses. I have felt frustration/anger towards the little boy who is 'my sun, moon and stars' for never napping long. I have felt shame instantly for feeling those emotions. I repeat to myself though that this is a season. A season that someday I know will long for again. It’s okay today to say it’s HARD. It’s possible to be completely overwhelmed by a season of motherhood and AND very grateful at the same time. Give yourself the grace to FEEL it all. And if you’re in the thick of it take a deep breath with me right now and remind yourself that you are AMAZING."

On Wednesday the scariest moments of my life flashed before my eyes in real time. I decided to give Rudie scrambled egg for lunch, cooked with tomatoes, cheddar a tiny bit of pepper and rapeseed oil in the pan. Obviously he polished off the whole bowl because loves his food. But whilst he was eating it, he started rubbing his eyes, by the time he’d finished his eyes became really red, his face and hands were covered in food as always during meal time but I decided to give his face and hands a wipe and see if there was anything in his eye. Quickly one became really puffy and I thought maybe he’s having a reaction. I called my doctor that’s only 5 minutes down the road but all the doctors were at a training day. I then rang Charlie who I knew would be home shortly to say the doctors have said to take Rudie to the hospital. He was only 5 mins away but then within one minute he went completely limp in my arms, his eyes were shut and he was unresponsive. I ran down our 4 flights of stairs ringing 999 frantically and ran into the street in the rain flagging someone to help me whilst screaming down the phone. I begged this man to get out the car and just stand with me. I was told by the medic on the phone to lay Rudie on the ground which made him come around a little but he was not with it at all. He was so white and glazed. The ambulance arrived within less than 2 minutes and gave Rudie oxygen. In the ambulance he just slept on me which terrified me, I kept asking are you sure he’s okay, are you sure he’s breathing because Rudie never ever sleeps in my arms, he’s just not that baby. He was put on the monitors and his obs were taken 3 times over 5 hours. After about 90 minutes of being there he seemed to be back to normal, flushed cheeks and smiling at everyone. We can’t be sure what the allergy was because he had more than me food mixed together but it’s more than likely from the eggs. 1 in 50 children have allergies to eggs which is really high. But because Rudie has had egg traces before on banana cake, pasta etc, I wasn’t worried about giving him eggs. Not like the day before I was cautious when he tried a little bit of peanut butter (continued in comments)
I don’t diet. I don’t do quick fixes. I don’t sell wraps, or pre-boxed meals, or pills, or magical fairy dust. I don’t do keto, intermittent fasting, whole 30, nor paleo, but if you do GREAT! There is NO judgement here.
Since when was their ONE way to do ANYTHING?
I follow a simple system and get results like this! Here’s the TOP SECRET that I let the cat out of the bag A LONG TIME AGO...ready for it? Quick and effective workouts, balanced nutrition & portion control, and accountability. BOOM. That’s it.
What if the fact that other people do something different than you doesn’t mean that you’re doing something W R O N G...it just means that you are D I F F E R E N T!?
So whatever works for you; do you baby! Do YOU! ✌🏼And they still fit 7 days post op with a swollen belly and gnarly scar.

Yesterday I breastfed in public for the first time since Lyla was born. Waitrose of all places, in an area of Southampton which is full of a judgmental, ignorant, predominantly white, older group- I know this because I used to work in this village and would frequently be mistaken for my colleague, simply because we are both brown - but look nothing alike! It’s their old school way of thinking that actually made me question whether or not to feed my child in this café. I can’t believe I even considered not doing it, but I did it. And I was pleasantly surprised.
I was approached by a lovely lady who asked how I was getting on and told me I was doing a great job and to keep going through the hard times because it gets easier and is all worth it. We chatted for about ten minutes whilst I was feeding Lyla and she made me feel completely at ease.
I know breastfeeding in public isn’t this straightforward for everyone and it may not be for me in an alternative location or situation, but that doesn’t mean I’ll stop. My baby needs to be fed and this is the most natural thing in the world.
My son is a 9 month old monster! 👹 Pulling hair is his favourite hobby.. also sample sucking on everything, eating random questionable bits off the floor and constantly demands to be held. 🤷♀️ Who can relate?
#FBF: One week ago today, you arrived with a light brighter than any I had ever seen and instantly transported me into a new life, one in which I have felt euphoric joy and a deepened love I cannot describe but am immensely grateful for. I've waited for you for so long, my darling baby girl, and you are every dream I have ever had come true. ✨✨✨Thank you for choosing me to be your mommy (mummy) and @kitmurray82 to be your daddy. Together, we will work daily to ensure you have a safe, happy, loving and truly wonderful life. Thank you to my husband-to-be for always stepping up being nothing short of amazing to the both of us. I love you both more than anything in this world. My life is truly complete because of you. 💖🙏🏽
