“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken.
If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal.
Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements.
Lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness.
But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change.
It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.
To love is to be vulnerable.”
-C.S. Lewis 🙏🏽
I wish I could tell you how many times I hid my heart behind the Proverbs 4:23 verse, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Singles LOVE this scripture. Lol.
I think back on the times I used this scripture as an excuse to push people away, to keep good people out.
Letting someone in is scary.
Allowing someone into your heart takes courage, it takes bravery.
But in keeping people out, I put fear at the forefront of my mind and spirit.
While I agree that you should in fact use discernment especially in regards to choosing a spouse, I don’t believe locking your heart and throwing away the key is what scripture is saying- and I don’t believe it’s what God intended.
God doesn’t want you to fear love.
God doesn’t want you to run from love.
God IS love.
And if we are seeking God, then we entrust Him with the frailty of our hearts.
Ezekiel 36:26 says, “He who gave us a new heart can be trusted to protect it.”
Trust that God has your best interest at heart. Perhaps the best way to guard our hearts is to give them completely to God.
Because if we take the responsibility of guarding our own hearts, we might lock them up so they are never broken with compassion for others or hurt by the sinful people whom Christ asks us to allow into our hearts. And after all, discipleship requires an infinite amount of LOVE.
I know you’re afraid, I know your heart is heavy,
but don’t let this world make you hard-
Love is a beautiful thing;
and you deserve every beautiful thing coming your way.
The chubby, gentle, wise, elephant-headed Ganesh, or Ganesha, is one of Hinduisms most popular deities.
Ganesh is the remover of obstacles, the deity whom worshipers first acknowledge when they visit a temple.
Statues of Ganesh can be found in most Indian towns. His image is placed where new houses are to be built; he is honored at the start of a journey or business venture, and poets traditionally invoke him at the start of a book.
Ganesh is also patron of letters and of learning; he is the legendary scribe who, using his commonly held broken tusk, wrote down parts of the Mahabharata Epic.
Ganesh's name literally means "Lord of Gana." Ganesh was entrusted by Shiva with the leadership of the Ganas, Shiva's dwarfish, rowdy retinue, in compensation for the loss of his human head.
The position of Lord Ganesh's trunk has a symbolic meaning in each different artistic depiction. If the trunk turns to the Ganesh's left, that is the direction for success in the world. It is a position associated with grihastas, or householders. To his right, the trunk represents moksha, good for renouncing the world. ✨🐘🕉🙏🌀 source: lotus sculpture.com ☀️ Photographer Unknown ✨🌈
We were tagged and messaged several times about this Mama dog that gave birth to 7 puppies on the streets of Tijuana. This poor fur family sat in the dirt and people were pleading for help. I have rescued quite a few from Mexico, but it is so much work and very stressful for me, so the best that I could do was comment that if anyone could get them here to me, then I would take them all, and I am a woman of my word.
Well... Allyson Jones Wong took me up on that offer and got them safely to a Vet in Tijuana and will be meeting me in Mission Viejo tomorrow while I am there for a post surgery check up with Pebbles. It takes a Village for sure and I appreciate all of her hard work to help this family. And now we have the perfect name for this sweet Mama... Allyson!
Sadly 4 of the puppies died which is an unfortunate reality for so many pups being born on the streets of Mexico. But, we have 3 puppies and a Mama who need us and so we are excited to welcome them to Foxy and the Hounds. I will most definitely keep everyone updated tomorrow once they are in our care.
I really cannot reiterate enough how much $8.25 Saves Lives! All we ask is that if you are touched by any of our rescue stories and want to support our continued efforts to save the ones the need us most, please be part of the Foxy Pack and sign up for a recurring donation of just $8.25 a month! Go to our website right now at www.foxyandthehounds.org and click the pink Donate button. You can choose an $8.25 (single), $16.25 (couples) or $24.25 (family) plan and please be sure to check the ‘Make this a monthly donation’ box. $8.25 a month is only $99 a year and your donation makes a difference, one dog at a time, or in this case.... an entire fur family. We thank you all for your love and support and could never save so many lives without you!
I’m Back!!! 3 weeks and my fast has finally ended but great things lie ahead! Before I left I had it on my heart for Kansas City for some reason...don’t worry it’s in the background but Gods not done with me yet in Springfield...new opportunities lie ahead along with new ministry opportunities! A vision is being birthed in my heart for my own ministry but also for the ministry I am apart of at Life.Church! It is only the Beginning!
The Lord has settled my heart on different personal things which brings peace and understanding. My M.Div degree begins tomorrow as well! It’s a new season of prosperity and blessing and it’s not all for me...but rather for you as well! A new season has arrived and it’s the beginning of something new! Some prayer requests have been answered and some have been silent because of timing...
I am super pumped for what God is going to do next! The Lord has a purpose and it’s only in time we will see it come to pass! At the moment all I gotta say is I’m home...I will not put dates on anything but great things are coming!
