Pai, the place where I offically become a solo backpacker.
I remember the morning that @catherinejanethomas got on her return flight home and I decided to get a bus up to Pai, it took 3 hours on what felt like the most bendiest road in the world.
I remember the bus arriving I took a step of the bus grabbed my backpacked, look around and it suddenly hit me! I was in a foreign country all on my own with just my backpack and phone to get me through! Fuck, what have I done! was my first thought... I didn't know where to start so I done what I do best and headed to the nearest pub.
After an hour of sitting chatting to the bar lady, It was now or never! So I headed up the hill to Circus where the guy told me there was no rooms avalible but asked me if I had hiked the hill... (yes) he looked at me probably thinking poor bitch and managed to get me a bed where I meet Kacey later on that night we meet the two lads from London and my Pai family was made!
I love Pai! It was chilled but full of adventure and the most interesting and craziest people! There was never a dull moment from chilling around the fire pit, watching the sunset, learning tricks, morning yoga, fire twirling, everyone being hypo and chaotic to pre partys and after partys and everyone grouping up and renting mopeds to explore the rest of Pai and everything it had to offer.
I cant wait to go back one day I feel like I have grown so much as a person since I stepped of that bus... Thank you Thailand! You will always hold a special place in my heart! ❤
