As many medical school students get back in full swing this week, don’t forget to lean on your friends as you hit the rigors of the classroom or clinical wards. Whether your wide-eyed first year students about to jump into anatomy, or you are close to bones 4th years just finishing the wards like my pal @doctorjarrett (now Miami’s best anesthetist), remember that everyone around you is going through something similar. Ask for help, take a break, eat cliff bar, and don’t forget to smile 😁. Your hard work pays off and it’s even better sharing the rewards with those closest to you. Good luck - you got this 👊🏼! #backtoschool#doctors
“You can't help respecting anybody who can spell TUESDAY, even if he doesn't spell it right; but spelling isn't everything. There are days when spelling Tuesday simply doesn't count” A.A. Miline
I love the wisdom found within the tales of Winnie the Pooh, especially the quote about respecting anybody who can spell Tuesday... even if they can’t spell it right.
To me, this is a beautiful reminder to simply let the energy flow and not get caught up in perfectionism and rigidity.
As a recovering perfectionist I have found that when I relax and stop expecting myself to be perfect, I ironically accomplish far more. Life is sweeter and more fulfilling when I accept I am good enough just as I am.
And you are too.
Sending love 💖
