"But Jaden, you play trumpet for jazz." So here's the deal:
I was playing trumpet for jazz, when the director starts talking about how he wants to do this specific song, but we can't because we don't have a guitarist. He pondered for a small moment, then asked if anyone doubled on guitar. I don't know if you knew this, but I play guitar.
So I raise my hand, he hands me the music and asks if I can do it, and I let him know I can. Only issue is, I have no guitar there, so I have to wait until the day of the concert to even practice the song once. I go home, listen to the song a bunch, do everything I can on my acoustic, and hope for the best.
As you can see, it looks like everything went really smooth, we got to do this amazing song (full song on IGTV), and I got to pull two solos from the concert. Sounds like a win to me. I feel like I can finally officially call myself a jazz guitarist now.
It was time to make a playthrough video of the song ”Expectation & Reality” which I didn’t produce when I was making videos about my debut album ”Time To Define”. The main reason why I didn’t produce this video earlier was that I didn’t really have a proper setup around for doing a video where I play the piano part and guitar solo. Enjoy this little clip and stay tuned for complete video 🙂
