As a kid we usually don’t look at each others body types and point out flaws of others. But as you get older it slowly becomes harder to appreciate the body you are in. This only gets harder because you start noticing the bodies around you, the “perfect” model bodies, the body you may not have and you start to realize how much people judge others. Even the most confident people can struggle with being body positive. Appreciating your body can be difficult but that is because of what we see on the media, there are always messages basically telling us ways how we would be able to “improve” our bodies. Everyone should love and appreciate their bodies how they are. We all have a specific body type and this type is the body fit for you. We are all beautiful in our own way and no one should feel less than what they are because they don’t have the types of bodies posted all over social media. No one was born perfect but everyone should appreciate the body they were born in. #appreciateyourself#loveyourcurves Huda Azzam

My first thought ( old programming) : ughh I look so fat here. I won't be able to share this photo... To be honest yes, it's an adjustment to have gone up a size. It's not a big problem for me, but is an adjustment.
But why are we so afraid to be authentic?
Why do we rush to cover up our perceived "flaws" and retouch our photos. Or make sure we put makeup on every inch of face and pose perfectly to look as slim as possible before getting a picture taken.
Why do we only share the highlight reel of life? The most gorgeous photos of ourselves, the most exciting and fun events we attend.
Why do we constantly "fake it til we make it"??? Some incredible and amazing women (@deborahyager @innerbeautyatx @keara.palmay) have inspired me lately with their authenticity. And it's not just a one time thing, they've discussed the importance of authentic leadership. 💃💃💃 As people we need to identify and express our struggle and pain in order to heal from it.
If we're constantly pretending it isn't there, we never give it space to be resolved. If we're constantly pretending everything is okay and we're okay and never need to make changes then we're stuck in a cycle of self soothing through unhealthy means, whether it's conscious or unconscious.
So enough of the fluff. The world can use more authentic leadership. More realness and truth. FULL expression of self.
Because you're perfectly imperfect and it's a BEAUTIFUL thing. 🦋🦋🦋 So here's me. Being real. And beautiful. Expressing my joy as I create art with @greysoncarlylephotography. 🤸♀️😊🌈
