Radically choose to love yourself RIGHT where you are — no matter your situation, no matter how much you think you deserve punishment or withholding; relax the power/hold of whatever else you believe disqualifies you from true, committed self-love. . .And by ‘love’ I mean ‘acting in the best interest of,’ ‘protecting,’ ‘serving the health and the greater good of.’ . . This has been my learning these last few years. Learning to stop striving for acceptance from others and learning to believe that I am loved by God as the imperfect mess I am. Only then I have learned I am able to accept myself where I am at in the mess. . . . The journey to self acceptance is in the slowing down and listening. The willingness to look at the mess and notice it, own it, but not judge it or control it. . . . It about allowing yourself to BE in the mess with Jesus, then allowing Him to love you in it....it’s then you begin to believe YOU ARE LOVABLE as you are!!! That you are uniquely created for a purpose and that the world needs you...there is no performance needed, just honesty and vulnerability in who you are. . . . The journey to accepting self starts here: “Here’s what I want you to do: Find a quiet, secluded place so you won’t be tempted to role-play before God. Just be there as simply and honestly as you can manage. The focus will shift from you to God, and you will begin to sense his grace.” Matthew‬ ‭6:6‬ ‭MSG . . The gospel has become so much more emotional and personal to me these last few years. I hope and pray as you learn to receive His love for you, it becomes more personal for you too!! . .
