In quite possibly one of the least likely collaborations ever at Bangor University Herp Soc & @bangor.lgbtsociety held the first ever Bangor University Herptile (Reptile & Amphibian) themed Drag Race! As part of the look or act it needed relate to Herps in some way, but was up for loose interpretation. This ranges from Daddy Pastelles leather look with a scaled face to Big Mommas stand up comedy act which had a focus on their time in Mexico dealing with Alligators 😂
It was great seeing so many people here to be witness to Daddy Pastelle being crowned Bangor University lord of drag!
On a personal note when I first had this idea while the focus was mainly to have a good time I hoped it would send a message to anyone who had wanted to join a society but was anxious/worried about them not being welcomed whether it was due to identity, sexual orientation, race, religion ect with the message being don't worry about that stuff just go ahead and join. Obviously it's easier to just say go ahead and join Bangor is pretty chill but I hope just the fact that this event existed especially with a society like Herp Soc that you wouldn't normally relate to a Drag Race this will be able to put those who are anxious/suffered discrimination in the past mind's at ease.
Hope everyone who attended enjoyed the event
