Happy 1st June.
Today is International Children's Day.
"With the creation of World Children's Day, UN member states recognized children, regardless of race, colour, sex, religion and national or social origin, the right to affection, love, understanding, adequate food, medical care, free education, protection against all forms of exploitation and growing in a climate of universal peace and brotherhood."
Today, many children will be going back to school after months of lockdown. For some it will be exciting and for some it will be tentative. Whatever happens, listen to your teachers and keep safe.
I am excited to be able to offer family sessions but it will be outdoors until further notice. After all, it is the first day of summer so lets embrace the great outdoors by having some gorgeous photo shoots outside.
Wow! Sessions are in full swing again and I am loving every minute of it! ✨ Check out more peeks from this session on my IG stories today. Love catching up with this fun family!! 💙💙💙

Beach days are my favorite. I’ll tell you why. You somehow become one with the breeze, sand, waves & salt water mist. Helicopter crashes, global pandemics, racism, and looting all wash away for a little while. You’re small in a beautifully vast place. Children spend hours catching waves, making sand castles, and collecting seashells. Adults become children again. And you can capture moments like this, even on an iPhone. Life is always good on the beach. Especially with these four love bugs. I love beach days :)

Um, does it get any sweeter than this? Britt's fourth baby taking wobbly steps into her arms 😭 The Davis family planned their session a little early this year and I'm loving the season we captured! Its truly a gift to watch their family change and grow over the years!
Also, I just announced in stories but I have ONE family session left this fall and just a couple minis. Don't miss out-- I would love to see you!! 💕
What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.
How incredibly sweet is this!! Little brother giving big sister a kiss 😘!

ON THE JOURNAL | All the bubble-blowing, sprinkler-filled fun over the last few weeks has transported me straight back to this fabulous London family lifestyle shoot. There were giggles galore that day and I drove home with a heart full of joy and a big smile on my face (I ‘may’ well been singing out loud in the car too.....but obviously don’t tell anyone!)
See the link in our bio for more and hope you can enjoy the gorgeous sunshine this evening everyone! x

Happy Children’s Day!
Don‘t you wish you could slow down time? I do. When did my children become so big?
All we have are these photos to remember, with time, whether we like it or not, the photos become our memories.
Seriously, when was the last time you were in a photo together with your kids?
I know, I know, .... you are not so photogenic, your hair is not right, you have a couple of kilos too much, trust me, I know all the excuses.
But, did you know that your kids don‘t care? That they love you just the same? And they will cherish those memories of you together?

“Family portraiture” sounds so stuffy. What I’m really in it for is things that make me feel. (That hair, though. 🔥)

It’s June 1st which means it’s baby month!! 🎉 ⠀
When I was pregnant with James I asked Instagram when you thought baby would come, and I guessed December 20th- turns out that was his birthday! ⠀
So this time I’m asking again, what’s your guess for baby boy’s arrival? I’m due June 24th and I’m going to guess June 15th. (Wishful thinking). What’s your guess?
•we didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I think I can say this with confidence; kids love to be chased around the kitchen island! ♥️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Had so much fun with this little family this morning!
I love when older siblings show how they truly are towards their little brothers and sisters. Completely unprompted big bro went in for a kiss and I love that he grabbed his face! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also, if you're looking for a weekend outdoor session date, I only have one weekend left in June and booking quickly for July & August! Don't wait to book your sessions! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

At the end of February, after 9 long months of semi-patient waiting on our part, one of our oldest and bestest friends finally had her baby. And we were sick. And we couldn’t see her. And COVID-19 stuff.... blah. blah. blah... BUT!!! This weekend we FINALLY met 3 month old Poppy! We air-hugged & air-kissed her from afar and took some beautiful images that we are so excited to share! It was definitely worth the wait. Thanks for letting us visit, @annadean22 ! *Random fact: Andrea introduced us 15 years ago at Ouachita Baptist University, the Spring of Cara Beth's senior year. 💗

Take my hand and let's explore.
Wednesday is a very clever little lady but didn’t seem to grasp the concept of the kite. She was very frustrated that it couldn’t fly and be held by the tail at the same time 🙄 3 year olds, am I right?!

Flying into the new week like ... 😎⠀
This is T’s cousin (well, second cousin). Isn’t he the cutest little pilot you ever did see?! He was not too thrilled about me or having his photos taken, but just at the right time, he gave us some sweet lil smiles. (After we struggled BIG TIME to get this lil bomber jacket on him). 🤣😍⠀
I have SO much to do this week & I’m just over here praying my child goes with the flow as I try to accomplish all the things! ⠀
It’s going to be such a busy month with photo sessions, weddings, getting to see my fam (finally!!) & keeping up with work in the spray & trucking businesses! ⠀
I’m so thankful though! Do you have any big plans this month? ▪️
How many times have you accepted a photography job knowing it's not the right fit for your work? It can be tough, particularly when starting out. ⠀

You can do this by creating a consistent and cohesive client experience from start to finish (from social media discovery to happy clients referring you to others). Invest in your dream.

Father’s Day is close! Stay in touch, I have specials and a giveaway coming 😍
This weekend I attended a magnificent maternity lighting workshop with my friend Vanessa from @capturedbyvandco
I really can't begin to sing ALL her praises in just one post. This workshop was so amazing. Not only because she left no 'informational' stone unturned, but also because I was able to see my friend shine bright in her new studio. A studio which she opened recently after years of hard work and dedication to learning and growing in her craft Every. Single. Day. I've personally witnessed her journey over the last few years and it thrills me to see her now being the educator teaching others how to achieve a new level of professionalism, creativity, and overall great success! Cheers to you Vane! For showing us this weekend the power we each hold within us. I don't think there was one woman in that workshop who didn't leave the experience feeling inspired and empowered by your zeal to reach for the top! If you're looking to learn from her, I would say to book her ASAP. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. ✨
To the beautiful team of women that put this gorgeous look together. Thank you for the honor to capture your work and for sharing your joy and passion with me as well.
To the lovely mommy to be, you're exquisite and I thank you for allowing me to share this image of you awaiting your baby girl. @alejandrainciarte 💕

Oh I miss these days where I carried my babies like this...
Time goes by so incredibly fast. .
My first baby is 13 years old already and my baby is 5 years old now. They are both so incredibly different from one another too... My 13 year old is very cautious, investigative, introverted and my youngest is extremely outgoing, jumps right in... Example: Anna and I were nervous on the plane coming out here and lily squealed with excitement like we were on a rollercoaster lol on each bump and turbulence. .
It is so fun to watch your children grow and develop into their own selves. Time really does go too fast.. Today is our last day here in Misconsin as my 5 year old says.. we fly back to Arizona tomorrow morning. This went too fast too!
When you were a nanny before going full time as a photographer, family sessions are an equal amount snuggles as they are photos, with a kiddo hanging off each limb. Wouldn’t want it any other way! Love these little ones and dying over how big they are getting!
Not my normal type of post, but thought these would be helpful for those of us photographers who aren’t opened yet or maybe only partially opened, but also for others who have had to work from home during quarantine and may still have to work from home the rest of the year.
Even though you may have already been having a multitude of virtual meetings by now, I thought it would still be helpful to write up a few quick tips for how to be fabulous on screen. Be sure to save this post and share it with others. 💻 Tip 1. Use your best device. Laptops or tablets on a stand - not your smartphone, work best for video meetings. You can easily move them to an ideal video location and stand up on their own. 🗣 Tip 2. Make sure to get the correct angle. Point your camera slightly down. Cuz, no one wants to look up your nose. If you need to, set your laptop or tablet on a stack of books or something similar to align your device with the top of your head. Now, angle the camera toward your eyes. 🏙 Tip 3. Look at your background. Try not to have backlight glare from your windows or other harsh light. This will give you a shadowed silhouette. Another thing. Do not walk around with your laptop or tablet while in the virtual meeting. It is very distracting to the viewers. 🎤 Tip 4. Check your sound. If you don’t have an external mic, using earbuds with the built-in mic will project your sound much more clearly. 🗒 Tip 5. If you are the host for the meeting, ask the attendees to raise their hand if they have a question or need to talk. This will avoid people just jumping in randomly to speak. Also, ask attendees to mute themselves when they are not talking in order to avoid hearing any of their background noises (dogs barking, children crying, train going by, etc.) Using these tips should give you a great and successful virtual meeting. .
