One of the most common question I get regarding lawns is: how do I get rid of clover in my lawn?
My response: leave it
Why? While most weeds are unsightly (I’m looking at you crab grass), I find clover’s flower inoffensive and generally gets removed with regular lawn mowing.
In addition clover can actually help your lawn. Clover is a nitrogen fixer. Nitrogen is that element that promotes leafing and greening of plants. So having clover in your lawn actually helps keeps the grass greener for longer. Particularly beneficial during those hot, dry summers we can get.
So if you’re overseeding your lawn, consider mixing some clover in with the grass seed you use, and you’ll have a lush green lawn in no time
