Surviving or thriving?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mental Health Awareness Week in association with Mental Health Foundation is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health and mental health problems and inspire action to promote the message of good mental health for all. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As the #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek draws to a close it’s important to remember to take care of yourself not just for a week but all year round.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During this time when we are still isolated from our friends and family, I thought I’d share some good mental health tips: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Get plenty of sleep. (Everything seems better after a good night’s sleep.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Eat well. (So the saying goes, you are what you eat.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Get some sunlight. (Catch some rays if you can, vitamin D is a powerful thing.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Avoid stress triggers. (Within reason, you cannot avoid work forever haha.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Be active and exercise. (I’m a strong advocate for exercise and getting in those endorphins.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Do something you enjoy. (Don’t just do things you have to, do things you want to. Paint, sing, dance, read for you not for research!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌Stay connected with others. (Just talking to someone can lift a weight off your shoulders.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📌It’s okay to ask for help. (In fact, it shows strength and courage!)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m off to have a self care Sunday 🧖🏻♀️
My DMs are always open. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Take it easy,
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #law#lawblogger#aspiringsolicitor#maturestudent#studygram#lawdegree#studying#revision#lawschool#lawyersofinstagram#degreelife#study#positivity#mentalhealth#photooftheday#kindness#instagood#bestoftheday#picoftheday#igers#kindnessmatters#lawstudent#lawlife#studylife#lawstudentlife#selfreflection#mentalhealthmatters#motivation#mentalhealthawareness
Be exactly who you are and the people meant to be in your life will show up. Losing yourself and trying to be someone else will never work out well for you.
You just can't. Eventually the mask comes off and you have to be you, so be you now. Remember "to thine own self be true." 🌿
We know #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek finished y’day, but we’ve decided to start this week by celebrating kindness too.
Thanks to the family of the #ExtraCare tenants who had flowers delivered to our staff.
Your gift brightened up our last week - very literally!pic.twitter.com/XXG2UPJakk

Eid Mubarak to all the beautiful people who make Oman what it is. Love you all 🇴🇲🌈🌞
Communication is key in all of our relationships, we know this right?
But do you truly realize how important it is to communicate with yourself?
Be intimate with how you talk to yourself.
Be aware of how you’re feeling in the moment, feel your feelings, don’t push them down, name your feelings, and let them move through you.
Know what you’re thinking and feeling.
Become your own best friend.
Healing requires you to unearth all of the pain, suffering, and trauma within you, and get it out, even if it’s uncomfortable. ❤️
Fantastic to see so many great businesses come on board (200 & climbing!) for this really brilliant initiative set up by the team over at @izest_marketing. There is literally something for everyone to avail of! ☻
I’m delighted to be part of the bigger picture and contribute with one ticket a day to my upcoming workshop which will be full of deep relaxation, positive vibes and well being - think holistic happy hour!
Things like the @oneaday.ie initiative - set up to help others during these more challenging times - really restores my faith in humanity and genuinely warms my heart to see people come together in kindness for others. Yay!
It’s super easy to get involved - whether you want to contribute as a collaborator or avail of something to help you or someone you know - so hop over to www.oneaday.ie and check out all the wonderful things on offer! ☻
Good morning everyone
It was a very emotional end to the weekend for pretty much all of us.
Proud of you all
Let's try and continue to keep kind to others and ourselves https://youtu.be/5k19Mo5pFKc
#BeKind #TimeToTalk#mentalhealth#KindnessMatters#love #lifepic.twitter.com/tJhiT0Ncu0
Sorry but let’s talk about some real shit.
Can we all just take a minute and relate about how bloody frustrating it is seeing or hearing people talk about how you should love yourself and your body like it’s so damn easy.
I don’t know about you guys but it’s not. It’s not easy at all actually, especially when it’s all you’ve ever known because your ‘friends’, bullies even a parent has consistently told you that you’re body isn’t good enough unless you’re skinny, that your opinion doesn’t matter because you’re ‘fat’
Sorry but it’s fucking hard to change your mind state to ‘ I actually don’t mind my stretch marks’ or ‘Jamie weight doesn’t matter, what matters is that you’re healthy, you’re happy and you’re kind’
It’s okay to have bad days and no matter how hard it is you should always remember that your body has gotten you through life, through struggles, through breakdowns that no one else but yourself was there for.
If you have your own back and handle what you take in and what you don’t. You can actually love yourself and what you look like. Even at your hardest times.
I could go on forever about this because I’ve lived with anxiety over my weight my whole life. It happens and people are cruel.
Don’t let that change you and be conscious of how you talk to yourself because hopefully you wouldn’t say it to anyone else so why say it to yourself?
Ps. Most of the time I also need to take this advice because I’m not even close to being okay with the way I look and that’s okay because I will and I work towards it everyday. .

I don't know about you, but in these strange and uncertain times I find myself thinking a lot about the words "everybody's in the same boat" and I have come to realise that actually we are all at sea in our own personal vessels.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ No two people are the same.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have a new sense of community and are all steering in the same direction as we navigate the choppy seas but each and every one of us brings a different outlook to the Captains' Table. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our compasses have taken each of us in different directions, and when we travel alongside someone, be it for an hour, a day, a week, a lifetime, we see things from our own perspective, a perspective born from our upbringing, our beliefs, our role models, our environment, and our own personal experiences as we journey through this life.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although we are experiencing the same moment, we see and feel it in our own unique way.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are an infinite number of degrees on life's compass and each of us are taking a different route, experiencing our own journey slightly differently to the person next to us, or the one in the canoe upstream, the one in the fishing boat or the one in the canal boat.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember that, no matter what storm we are experiencing, whether it be a collective one like now, or a personal one, or both -⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kindness Never Goes Out of Style.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As we weather the storm together, be kind to yourself, and above all, be kind to others - their boat may not be as strong as yours.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With love and kindness,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Have you found yourself more disconnected since having a child, or since lock down?⠀
Since becoming a mother I've felt more disconnected from my friends and family. Some of it is that a lot of my friends and family are on the other side of the world with very different time zones, but a major contributor is that between work, being a mummy and maintaining some semblance of house order I have such limited time to myself. It means that sometimes connecting with others has felt more like a chore (just one more thing on the to do list). Sometimes I am so busy that I forget I haven't yet responded to a text, facebook post, or email. Sometimes the time in the day that I could do it I'm collapsing into bed with no desire to do anything other than read a chapter of a book, or watch an episode of something on Netflix. I'm just not putting in the time and energy that making, or maintaining really good connections requires.⠀
I'm not sure I have a solution to the practical issues that get in the way. While my little one is small he gets the lion share of my energy and I have to listen to what my body is telling me about my remaining reserves. If connecting feels nourishing then I go for it, if it feels like it's a chore then it's right to plow that energy back into self care and recharging.⠀
However, I did recently read some interesting research on how you can improve your sense of connection with others through regular loving kindness meditations. This does feel both doable and nourishing. It feels like something I can do at the end of the day instead of reading my book. In fact it sounds like a great way of spending 11-13 minutes preparing to sleep.⠀
Kindness is a great way generally of improving relationships with yourself and with others. Below is a poster listing 5 ways you can use kindness to improve well being and connection and it includes a link for a loving kindness meditation⠀
SUPPORT | Aid, help, assistance, advice, guidance is something the property community most certainly has in abundance but it’s something we shouldn’t take for granted. Whether it’s in property or other walks of life have there been times where you haven’t reached out or helped someone because you thought someone else will? We’ve all been there. We all live busy lives but whenever you can reach out to someone who has asked or even hasn’t asked for help, you may be the only one that does...
Have a fantastic week

Saturday Saturday Saturday💙
This is just a quick one tonight to say THANK YOU SO MUCH☺️🤗😇 for all the support this week for #mentalhealthawareness. It’s been so lovely to see so many people reach out and share their experiences and advice. However, I wanted to say that this week can be quite triggering and unsettling for people, that is why I tried to share more broad topics which people could interpret as they wish❤️ Like I said at the beginning everyone has mental health and it’s NOT a fixed concept, it comes in a multitude of forms and represents itself in a variety of ways. It takes you on a journey of which will probably lead you down paths you don’t expect and I don’t want to say that it’s about reaching an end goal. In many ways it’s not, it’s about appreciating what you’ve learned and how far you have come⭐️ One of my favourite sayings is that you have survived everyday whether it be good or bad and this is the sign that YOU can cope with ANYTHING. Thank you thank you thank you. I hope you have got something out of it and it’s made you think in a way you might not of before. I know I have. Lots of love and stay safe friends😇 Xx #kindnessmatters
Remember to always reach out in whatever way you feel comfortable in or if you would like to. It is okay not to be okay✨ •

The way we have been working has changed hugely over the last few weeks. We’ll definitely keep some of it in place, we’ve had some great feedback, thank you.
It’s also changing for the justice system in general, have a look at this article.

I look as if I'm expecting the fountain to share it's secrets with me in this photo don't I? "Speak to me oh tinkling water nymphs, tell me the answers I need to hear." It was very soothing to rest my head and listen to the sounds bubbling up from the fountain. Water, greenery, nature; all healing and calming.
A trick I learnt when training to be a therapist was to visualise a person or problem that was troubling you then drain it of all colour, reduce the size of the image and move it into the distance until it gradually disappears. POOF bye bye the emotional attachment.
I was frantically using this last night to help me with my ANGER around the shitshow of the UK government. I was so fuming with Johnson and Cummings that I had an argument with Weef about putting tomatoes in the salad - my view is green salad and tomato salad are two seperate dishes, I don't like my salad mixed.
I meditated on my annoyance - politics not salad; the tomato green thing isn't flexible - and used the above technique to remove these stupid little men from my mind.
I am a natural Radical Optimist. I believe in my own innate goodness and also that we are all born good but that the environments in which we grow often cause us to adapt in ways which being out 'bad'. Last night I tried to imagine the awfulness of Johnson and Cummings early years to have caused such dreadful men to have had to emerge. I even sent them both Loving Kindness: may they live with ease, happiness, and good health.
I didn't want to start a new week full of negativity so I made a choice to let it go. Today I will fill myself hope. I've even made myself a Monday Mantra for my phone screen. I'm optimizing all my optimism. Today I am beautifully balanced. Hell today I'm a beautiful being full to the brim with Love: May I live with ease happiness and good health.
May you too live with ease, happiness and good health.
Kindness is the best tool I have in my belt.

#PhysicalDistancing itu jaga jarak dengan manusia, bukan jaga jarak dengan kemanusiaan. I made this as a reminder for ourselves.

Being kind to our mental health during these times could help us cope with the “new normal” for mental well-being in the future.
𝗩𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱 gives your cognitive abilities a boost.
Happy Monday lovelies!
I have complied 5 simple ways to help us all to manage stress and have a happier and healthier life:
PLS SWIPE ➡️ ------------------
😊Stay hydrated- Dehydration can increase levels of stress hormones, it can cause our body to stop functioning properly which can result in anxiety and other health issues. ------------------- 😊Deep breathe - deep breathing will encourage our mind and body to slow down and help it return to normal.
When you feel yourself getting anxious, take a deep diaphragmatic breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. ------------------------ 😊Talk- talking to someone or venting our emotions is a great way to stress relief. It helps to take the feelings out from the inside. Find a positive outlet to offload. --------------------- 😊Dance - moving our body is another great way to de-stress. When we dance our body releases feel good hormones which causes our body to feel happy and calm. --------‐------------- 😊 Meditation- allows our body to slow down and pay more attention to the present moment. Practicing meditation brings inner peace. --------------------- . .
Ongoing stress is not good for our physical and mental health. It's very advisable that you visit a doctor if you're experiencing serious symptoms. . . .

We did it! 10068 Acts of Kindness in One Week. Thank you to pupils, staff, parents, Governors and Old Sils for supporting. Power of click
On 20 May, I came across story of Vishal on Instagram.
He was living alone in park with dogs in Delhi. His parents went to native place before lockdown and left him with his siblings under guidance of landlord.
After few days over a petty dispute, landlord kicked him out and his relatives also refused to keep him.
He found shelter in a park and dogs gave him company. He lived there for 2 months.
In these two months Yogita looked after him and provided food.
Moved by his plight, I posted about it on Twitter, tagging IPS officer Arun Bothra for help.
He responed and in 2 days, we managed to bring his parents from Bihar and reunited them.
This incident went viral on Twitter and got published in every newspaper.
I never knew a single tweet and a single click would change someone’s life.
Sprinkle some kindness today
What's been your best take from Mental Health Awareness week?
𝐻𝑒𝓁𝓁𝑜 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒷𝓇𝒾𝓁𝓁𝒾𝒶𝓃𝓉 & 𝒷𝑒𝒶𝓊𝓉𝒾𝒻𝓊𝓁 𝒽𝓊𝓂𝒶𝓃 😘
𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣:
*Your past mistakes
* Your weight
* Your illness/disability
* Your imperfections
* Your grades
I’ve failed, I’ve struggled, and I’ve obsessed over imperfections. There were many times I wanted to give up, but had I done so, I wouldn’t be a doctor starting her dream residency in a few weeks.
You are magic babe & more than worthy of all your heart wants ❤️
It’s easy to be kind to those who treat us nicely, but how do you show compassion to someone who has wronged you? We know nobody’s perfect, but when the pain is too deep, sometimes it just feels impossible to forgive. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In these difficult moments, may we look to Christ. Jesus showed the ultimate act of kindness when He died on the cross so all of us may live. I can’t even imagine and describe this kind of love! He forgave His enemies — all the mockers, scoffers, and sinners — even as they hung Him on the cross. Oh, how He loves! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Remember that you have control over your own peace. Forgiveness doesn’t mean that person deserves to be forgiven, but it shows you’re choosing to take the higher road. It will not be easy and most of the time, it may not be a one-time thing. Don’t feel bad if you feel it’s not natural for you to forgive right away, or if you have previously forgiven someone but then months or years later, it comes back and you feel consumed by your emotions again. Forgive and forgive — and forgive again. Take all the time that you need. He will give you the strength to continuously do so.❤️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Good Morning ☀️ Just a gentle reminder that we focused on mental health last week and kindness. However, it doesn't end there, we will continue to talk about this as it is so important. Have a read of this little picture and remind yourself it's ok to have bad days and feel a certain way but please do not punish yourself. There is always tomorrow 💚

How have you shown YOURSELF LOVE this week .?
Have you treated yourself? Have you forgive yourself for something? Have you meditated? Have you worked out? Have you truly relaxed.... Have you done something specifically for YOU this week?
Answer honestly .
I had a lovely day with a small group of year ones today.
With all the recent changes my role will change again.
I will go back to mostly providing extra release to K-6 teachers.
I was able to join in with a @agoodlittleteach teacher style challenge today with something blue.

Monday’s insight. 🌻Driving through to Johannesburg yesterday, the hardships of so many were brought painfully to the fore. My heart shattered. Seeing the sadness in another humans eyes and knowing I have no magic wand to wish away their plight, was devastating. There is so much evil In this world that it’s hard not to get swallowed up by the sheer magnitude of it all. But this, we cannot allow. We have to be better, stronger and braver, so that we can break the shackles of poverty together....one kind deed, one sincere heart, is all it takes...until there are more kind deeds and more sincere hearts...and before you know it, a meaningful difference can be made💛
