Two weeks ago, I had to transition my brick and mortar therapy practice to a full on telehealth practice. In the midst of making immediate shifts in my business, I had to think and pivot quickly. I also had to consider the stressors my clients may have with the adjustments of WFH, homeschooling their kids, being essential workers, and the many ways social distancing and COVID19 has shifted their lives.
As a mental health professional with a social media platform, people will look to you to produce content/IG lives/courses on how to manage your anxiety and stress during COVID19. I knew our community needed this, but I was also mindful that I needed my cup to remain full to serve my current clients and not overwhelm myself. I also didn’t want to produce content to profit off of people while they’re in a moment of panic. Last week, I kept hearing the word GENEROUS and I just knew I needed to use my expertise to provide value to my audience that will produce impact for free. I am not saying everyone needs to do this, but I know God has carved out a lane for me to disrupt the marketplace.
The rest I’ve received has allowed me to gain new insight to make my next move. If you know me well, you know I’m a strategist who will execute a vision placed on my heart. This is my season to shift the narrative for Black girls 🤎💗 #TheStateOfBlackGirls
#realtalk: This epidemic is profound, but you know what’s even more profound - how it placed us in front of selves, in front of the mirror of our lives & made us look so close into own inside to re-evaluate what really matters ❤️ You can’t avoid looking in Sister. That’s where growth starts - inside. By accepting where you are today, right now. By embracing the anxiety you’re feeling. By learning to love your imperfections and your lack. By recognizing that where you’re today does NOT serve as an indication of where you can be tomorrow or 6 mos from now.
So go stand in front of the mirror today. Feel the feelings instead of brushing them under the rug. Embrace the fears and the doubts. And then smile brightly & say - “This is where I start. First. That’s not where I finish” ❤️ Tag a Sis who needs this today. Or send it to her. #werisetogether ✨💖 #speaker#womenscoach#soarkletribe#bossbabes#istartfirst

A story in case you need it.
I was at an airport in July of 2011 with my new baby. A woman whom I respect was at the same gate. She knew I had quit my job with the desire to start my own thing. She also knew Michael and I found out we were pregnant shortly after I quit and now there I was.
She asked how I was doing. I glowed like any new mother would... but she could see the part of the story I couldn't quite tell. The part where, like an ugly step sister, I was struggling trying to cram my big, fat ambition into the teeny tiny glass slipper of motherhood. It just didn't fit.
She smiled kindly. "It goes a little more slowly when you have children... but it will go."
Her words gave me comfort. I settled into the slow. I worked in the nooks and crannies. I embraced the reality, adored my babies and looked forward to the day when the reality would naturally shift.
And shift it did. Eventually my kids went to school and once they were safely in the capable hands of educators, it was Game. On.
My friends during those early years will tell you, it seemed to happen overnight. I went from a SAHM to running a million dollar business in 4 years and everything was exactly as we (my whole family) dreamed it would be.
And then, on March 15th, NYC announced schools were closed indefinitely and suddenly, I was right back where I started. Raising my babies 24/7 while trying to squeeze my big fat ambition into the nooks and crannies of our quarantine life.
I'm not gonna lie. It's hard. I watch my childless-peers with their endless hours of creation and I fear I am falling behind.
And then today I remembered those words of wisdom from the woman at the airport: It goes a little more slowly when you have children... but it WILL go.
To my fellow ambitious women in this new story, I'm with you. This adjustment is hard. But it's not permanent.
Yes. It's slow going now... but it WILL go.. again. 😘✨
This wasn't even one of my big news announcements that I had planned.
Do you ever have a moment where you are just taken back and you can't think of what to say? Well, usually I don't have that problem, but today was one of those times for me. I received a text from a friend that said, "congratulations buddy" I replied, "thank you, but for what" and she said, "go watch the Facebook live Dr. Ruben West is doing NOW". She had peaked my curiosity, so I did right away.
I never had the opportunity to meet Susan Maxine Gibson in person, but I know the amount of World Changers that say how powerful she was and to find out that I would be the 2020 Susan Maxine Gibson Golden Microphone Award winner gives me goosebumps. I want to thank everyone that has helped me along the way and remind them to stay buckled in because this ride is FAR from over! Time to get to work.
Tomorrow I have the esteemed honor of interviewing @swincash, a 2X Olympic Gold Medalist, a 3X WNBA Champ, and current VP of BBall Operations for the @pelicansnba on the #WomenWhoRoar IGTV Series.
Make sure to tune in and catch the vibe! I love me some Swin and I guarantee you will too!
Tomorrow at 5:30pm EST on my IG Live. This series is possible by @thefemalecollaborative_

Präsent sprechen in Zoom ... So geht's: (Save the Tipps)
Wie geht's dir in online Meetings? In deinen Videos und online Workshops?
Der andere weit weg. Kontakt Aufnahme ganz anders.😂

I’ll go ahead and say it 🤷♂️... I miss crowds. I miss the stage. I miss the energy of an audience. I don’t need it, but I miss it. It was always a great way to connect with new people and reconnect with long time friends and colleagues.
I’ve had several speaking engagements postponed or canceled so far and I’m sure more are to come. All any of this forced isolation and social distancing does is force us to find new ways to connect again. Looking at some new opportunities now, excited to share in the coming weeks.

“Instead of being immobilized by anxiety we can use this unexpected break in the action as a time to get better and stronger. A time to tackle things we’ve put on the back burner. 1. By Learning New Things 2. Through Creative Expression 3. Practice Gratitude. 4. Sharpen Your Skills 5 Get Fit 5. Yes, that’s me @chadzueck in the flesh. I have been a public communicator for 15 years.
I have thousands of hours of standing up in front of groups as small as two to as many as 1k.
Every group is different and fun in their own right. Podcasting is difficult and a whole other code to crack but I love it.
But the most challenging communicating I do is not on stages; they are at home.
There’s emotion and engagement when I am not “on” and nothing is controlled and scripted.
Here are some things I have learned in my 26 years of marriage and in raising two kids. You can use them , chew on them or reject them.
👉🏼My life is always supposed to be intertwined with them so they are never an interruption.
👉🏼What I say is not as important as how I say it.
👉🏼Just because I know the answer doesn’t mean I need to share it quickly.
👉🏼My ability to listen is hindered by my willingness to talk.
👉🏼I talk with body language more than words.
👉🏼A facial expression can say more than a thousand words.
👉🏼When I haven’t spent time with God I will likely not spend much quality time with my family.
👉🏼A life spent listening is a life spent learning.
👉🏼The biggest obstacle to my openness with my wife is often insecurity in me.
👉🏼I need to work on communication every day.

Today I escaped.
My husband and I carefully, and as safely as possible, drove to Sam's Point Reserve. ⛰
We hiked a few miles and came to across this beautiful view.
I stood on this rock, which seemed to overlook the world and was truly isolated. Not a person in sight (other than my hubby). From there, I could see the trees becoming green with life and flowers blooming in the distance.
We may be experiencing a lot of uncertainty, fear, and sadness, but don't forget that it's Spring and cute little flower are blooming.
There’s new life and fresh beginnings sprouting everywhere. 🌱🌸
What are you most excited to see when you we can go outside again?
Even though most of us have been forced into a slow down, some of you are still feeling guilty for not getting enough done. You are creating more work and longer to-do lists. You are resisting rest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Maybe you think doing nothing is lazy.
Perhaps you are afraid to get quiet. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Our bodies, brains, hearts and souls need rest and time to do nothing all the time, but especially now. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rest makes space for recovery and sick or not, we are all going through something that is demanding our strength and attention, and will continue to demand our strength and attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The way we stay strong and present is through rest. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rest your body. Rest your mind. Rest your heart. It may be the most productive work you do. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Rest, recover, renew, repeat.
Do nothing and do it without guilt or worry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
More be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
